Good price, good value.

These manifolds are a good value for the price. I am impressed with the features that come on these manifolds. As a professional plumber, I will most certainly use these manifolds again. It will help keep my cost down, and provide more value for my customers heating dollar.

affordable, but mediocre quality

I purchased 5 of these for a large heating project. They are obviously at a nice price point, but they achieve this through the use of some less expensive parts. The flow valves in particular are very low quality. I have had some issues also with internal clogs in the manifold assembly, all of which have been due to the flow valves thread (plastic) being machined by the manifold body (stainless steel) when they were installed at the factory. The flow valves will fill with system water during use, and can become very hard to read once the water is not clear. I also fail to see the point of providing these manifolds at more than 8 loops, as the 1" inlet cannot provide sufficient flow for more than 8 loops. That being said, they are doing the job, and were much less expensive than the Wirsbo manifolds.

Easy install...great price.

Just installed a 4-port to replace my old one. Went together easy. No leaks. Easy to bleed the air from. Only issue I had was that the old manifold didnt have the ball valve/temp. guage on it, so I had to fight the PEX a bit. Great manifold for the price.

FLOW CONTROL VALVES LOWEST QUALITY

I PURCHED THIS 10 ZONE HEAR A YEAR AND HALF AGO. FLOW CONTROL VALVE CRACKED WHILE I WAS AWAY, WATER EVERYWHERE. REPLACEMENT VALVES ARE 2 - 3 MONTHS BACK ORDER, SO MUST BE HAPPENING TO EVERYONE. DONT PURCHACE PRODUCT WITH SUCH A LOW QUALITY VALVE OR YOU TO MAY HAVE WATER EVERYWHERE.

after 3 years of service

On the third heating season I've now loss 3 of the flow meters . Just found the garage flooded. That being said I realized after viewing some pictures "then some common sense" I may have the flow meters on the wrong side of system. They're on the supply side and believe they just can't handle the heat. Got in a jam and used to feed cast radiators at 180 degress to make things worse and may be over heating the unit. Good thing is 3 replacements are under $30 and I will be reworking system to place meters on the return side.

Broke open after 3 months

You get what you pay for. 3 months after install and using it successfully all winter, I go downstairs to see the flow meter randomly split open and is spraying water all over my basement.

Great Manifold for the price

Installed manifold for radiant slab. Install was good, manifold looks great always a hit with homeowners looking for that extra touch. Easy to install, easy to set up. Should not that it doesn't come with mounting hardware so be sure to get some stainless screws.

Expensive but does the job

These one piece 10 loop manifolds are far superior to Mr. Pex modular manifolds. No matter what you do, the modular manifolds leak between them. Although expensive, the one piece design is much better. They look better too.

Beautiful Product

nice product easy set up and connect. Probably more than necessary for my use. Equal runs probably don't need that much balancing. Fun to look at and see the flow when pump is on. [...]

You can. You can also use the part MP124 loop cap.

Q: Can we use Wirsbo pex with these?

You can, but there are no fittings available that would enable you to use ProPEX expansion fittings with the Rifeng manifolds.

Q: I have 2 Rifeng manifolds. A 3 and an 8. Problem is they have 1" BSP thread. Where can I get a 3/4x1" BSP fitting for 3/4 tubing. All I can find is NPT.

An MP137 fitting would get you to 3/4" male threads. You could thread a 3/4" female NPT x PEX, female NPT x copper, or female NPT x SharkBite fitting to the MP137. Also keep in mind that the shut-off valves included with the manifold, which attach to the manifold via BSP threads on one side, have 1" female NPT threads on the other side.

Q: Can the loops be capped for future at the manifold and what size cap to use?

You can cap the loops. You would need to use part number MP124.

Q: The manifold end of the shut-off valve assembly is 1" Male BSP. Is the other end of this assembly 1" Female NPT or 1" Female BSP? What are the differences between the Rifeng and Mr. Pex versions of these manifolds? I have the Rifeng assembly. Will the Mr. Pex accessories work with the Rifeng version?

Asked by Dean 14 years ago

The manifold has 1" female BSP thread, the manifold side of the shut-off valve has 1" male BSP thread, and the other side of the shut-off valve has 1" female NPT thread. If, for example, you wanted to connect copper to the valve, you'd use a part WP4-16 fitting. The Rifeng and Mr. PEX manifolds are more or less the same. Mr. PEX manifolds do not include temperature gauges on the shut-off valves, however. The parts for the manifolds are interchangeable.

Q: Can this manifold be used upside down (feeding up) with actuators below manifold??

Asked by wap 14 years ago

You can install the manifold upside down, with the only disadvantage being that you won't be able to use the flow meters (which must be in an upright position in order to function properly). We don't recommend installing the manifold upside down when you're using actuators. Running water over electric is a bad idea because any leaks could create a major safety hazard.

Q: Can these units be rotated 90 or 180 degree's when installed or do they need to be installed as a "bottom plumbed unit"?

This manifold can be mounted in any orientation, although the visual flow meters must be mounted in an upright position in order to function properly. It's also not recommended to allow water to flow on top of any manifold actuators you might use, as this would be a safety hazard.

It can, you'd just lose the use of the visual flow meters.
