PEX-al-PEX Chamfering Tool (1/2", 3/4", 1") is required to ensure the tubing is prepped for secure connections.

Those are the correct dimensions for 1/2" standard PEX. This is 5/8" PEX-AL-PEX (PEX with an embedded layer of aluminum). Standard 5/8" PEX has a 0.574" ID and a 0.750" OD.
You can bend PEX-AL-PEX by hand.

You do need glycol. The maximum run should not be over 400 feet, and maximum water temperature is 140°F.
Although standard PEX tubing does expand less than copper, PEX-AL-PEX will have a lower thermal expansion rate than than standard PEX.
In a heating system, you will need to use PEX with an oxygen barrier. You can either install PEX-AL-PEX or standard oxygen-barrier tubing.
I recommend the Pex-Al-Pex 1/2 , its really durable and it's easy to lay down to the mash .
