I purchased this ERV to replace a 12 year old Venmar that quit working due to a broken damper assembly. As Venmar products are discontinued there were no replacement parts available anywhere. Therefore, repairing it was not possible unfortunately. I ordered this on a Sunday night and it was here Wednesday morning so kudos to Supplyhouse for super fast shipping. After getting an estimate from an HVAC tech, I saved $300 buying the wall units and ERV here. By installing it myself I saved another $500 in labor. I've never tackled an HVAC project before and was a bit nervous. After watching some YouTube videos and carefully reading all the included information it took me about a full day. This unit is smaller than my old Venmar Constructo and the ports are in a different orientation so I had to buy some additional flex ducting to extend the existing ductwork. After installing the new wall units, ductwork and ERV I crossed my fingers and turned it on. After confirming the setup questions, the unit calibrated itself and ran flawlessly. I'm very pleased with the unit and as a bonus we've noticed it evacuates humidity from the bathroom much faster than the old unit. I highly recommend.

Generally a good product however I have recieved thermistor failures in 3 of the last 18 units I have installed. Tech support has been poor and very slow to respond. I would not install this product unless you are good with making service calls to repair the unit days after installation.

A bit complicated to start up. Instructions could be better written. Went on youtube to figure out start up.

I have had this installed for about a week now, with the Speed Selector wall control. I installed it myself, replacing an Ultimate Air machine. It has a complete separate duct distribution system from my furnace. (Most of the ducting was carryover from the Ultimate Air , with minor mods). Pros: - Quiet - Self balancing - totally awesome. Could not find any other unit that had this. When you hook it up it gives you CFM readout of intake and exhaust and you can see it self-balance. This makes the do-it-yourself installation possible. - Easy to install. The only hard part is that it is sort of a pain to install insulated ducting, especially when you don't have a helper! But that is true with ANY ERV. - The boot-up and self-calibration is awesome. Runs through a check when you first boot and tells you the max airflow you can achieve with the ducting you have, and what the restriction is - intake or exhaust. Allows you to select a programmed in (lower) Max airflow if for some reason you don't like the default (because of noise or whatever). - Unit seems very well made. I would say quality is very high (I have worked for major manufacturers all my life). Way better than the Ultimate Air. - Easy to access and service interior parts. They seem to have thought of everything, including even having spring-loaded clips and a great rubber seal on the front access door. - Relatively light at 30 pounds. Cons: - Minor quibble. The screws to attach the hold-up brackets to the unit have a Phillips/square head. They are sort of self-tapping and require quite a bit of torque that is very difficult to achieve with a Phillips head. I have a square head, so no issues. But just a heads up. This replaced a 10 year old ERV that failed. Once you have had an ERV/HRV you will never want a house without one again. Fresh air all the time.

Air quality in our home is so much better now. I don't think we've opened the window now that we can pull in fresh air while filtering out pollen. The unit is pretty quiet and was an easy DIY install. It doesn't pull the rated CFM, but I didn't expect it would. I went up a size from that I thought I'd need because my ducts are fairly long and have to make a 90 and 45.

Easy connections. The auto balancing seems to be pretty responsive so far. We have the appropriate ducting to and from but are only able to pull about 140 cfms of the advertised 160. So far so good. None of the controls are available so we are waiting for those to come in before final review of this system.
