Description

DiversiTech 625-AF6 6" Dia. Duct Fan (240 CFM, 37W)
An in-duct booster fan used to increase airflow in a branch duct of a forced-air system to improve circulation and comfort in rooms with low airflow.

Key Features:
  • 6" diameter duct fan; 240 CFM max airflow; 37W
  • Metal construction with a powerful, no-maintenance motor
  • Intended to help keep room temperatures more consistent and support lower heating/cooling costs
  • Designed for installation into a 120V system
  • Install instructions/templates/diagrams included

Compatibility & Applications:
  • Intended for air circulation/ventilation use to boost airflow to low-output areas in forced-air duct systems
  • Designed to boost only dry (ambient) heated or cooled airflow on the downstream side of the main circulator (in a branch duct)
  • Must only be used where the manufacturer specifies this exact part number: 625-AF6

Installation & Operation Notes:
  • Installation and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with applicable codes and standards (NEC/ANSI/NFPA 70 noted in instructions)
  • Only install this duct fan in horizontal applications
  • Use only in ambient temperatures between 50°F and 140°F
  • Do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device
  • Use the attached electrical junction box; field wiring must comply with local code requirements and applicable electrical standards
  • Manufacturer-provided electrical hook-up options include wiring to cycle with the main blower, wiring to an on/off switch, wiring through an auxiliary airflow switch, wiring through a 120V line thermostat, or wiring for continuous operation

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • The fan is described by the manufacturer as having a no-maintenance motor
  • If performance is poor, confirm it is installed in a branch duct downstream of the main blower and that the application is within the required ambient temperature range
  • Overheating caution from the instructions: the 6" model's motor thermal protection is against one instance of overheating; do not subject it to temperatures exceeding 257°F / 125°C or the motor can fail permanently

User Reviews & Q&A Summary:
  • Most reviewers use it as a booster to solve low-airflow rooms (including upstairs rooms/bedrooms and areas served by long runs), and report it "works as intended" and improves comfort
  • Installation is commonly described as straightforward, with many customers purchasing specifically to correct uneven heating/cooling or to boost airflow from a duct run (including wood-stove/heat-transfer setups)
  • The most common downside mentioned is sound level: a few reviewers note it can be noticeable/loud in quieter spaces (e.g., near bedrooms)
  • Q&A themes: customers ask for wiring/installation guidance beyond the manual; responses direct customers to the included instructions and note SupplyHouse cannot advise on installation specifics beyond manufacturer documentation

Great product for cool areas

This is a great booster fan for heard to heat areas or rooms. This was relatively easy to install in the duct leading to the cool room. I used a pressure power switch installed in the trunk duct to control the booster fan in conjunction with the furnace operation. Now we enjoy a comfortable and warm bedroom for some good sleeping.

Noisy fan

Moves air very well and has improved temperature control in room but it is very loud when installed around for feet from vent in room. I may need to move it easy back up the duct to see if it's less noticeable.

Woodstove fan

I like this fan because of the metal blades. I use it to move hot air from my woodstove to my house ductwork. As long as the electricity doesn't go out when the stove is hot it's perfect. If the electricity goes off when the stove is hot it fries the motor.

Great product, works as intended

These duct booster fans work great when installed correctly into 6" supply ducts. They are a little noisy but only as much as a fan in the room you are supplying with it. I wired 3 of these into a pressure switch that I installed into the supply ductwork. This energizes the motors while there is airflow from the furnace.

HIGH TEMP IN DUCT FAN, 6 INCH

I USE THIS "IN DUCT' FAN ON THE OUTLET SIDE OF A SMALL PASSIVE SOLAR HEATING PANEL USED TO SUPPLIMENT RESIDENTIAL HEATING IN THE COLDER MONTHS... IT OPERATES IN AMBIENT AIR FLOW TEMPERATURES UP TO 160 DEGREES... IT HAS AN OPERATING RANGE OF OVER 250 DEGREES. OTHERS USUALLY EXCEED THEIR THERMAL LIMITS AND FAIL IN SIX MONTHS OR SO.. THIS FAN SEEMS TO LAST 5 TO 10 YEARS.

This product works as advertised and meets expectations.

I use this in line booster fan in the manner for which it was designed. That is to increase heating and cooling air to a side room. It works but is a little noisy making me wonder if the sealed bearings will hold up under continuous duty.

Great product. It did exactly what I had hoped for.

I installed the unit in a HVAC duct that under performing in that room. It more than doubled the air out put in that room. It is very quiet, so much so I don't really here it when in the room.

Product/service was reliable and as expected

Fan was installed and although it's only been a few weeks, everything is working fine. I have purchased other fans as long as a couple years ago and they are still working well.

Solved my airflow issue for the upstairs bedrooms

My boy's rooms upstairs always lacked airflow and since the ductwork is buried in the wall, upsizing the ductwork was not an option, This fan solved their issue and boosted the airflow from 520 CFM to just shy of 800 CFM and my boys said that their rooms are more comfortable than they ever have been.

moves air pretty well

It works and is economical. However, the impeller balance is poor, and the unit vibrates my metal duct work. The resulting structure born noise is too high for my residential application, so I will re-purpose the unit. I also note that the terminal box is small.
