Works well but does not last very long

The HVAC company installed one of these because a room in the house was not receiving sufficient airflow. The unit was an overkill for the boost needed so a dimmer control was added. Running below the capacity makes it really quiet. The fan failed after a year. The installer got me a replacement unit under warranty but would charge me for the labor to replace it. I ended up replacing it myself. The new fan lasted a little longer than the warranty and I had to replace it again. When that failed, I replace it again and added a timer to turn it off when nobody is in that room. The last one lasted for seven years. All the fans failed because the bearings seized. They all worked well while they were working. Just wish they would last longer.

Move air from room to room

Installed the first of these fans I purchased about 10 years ago above a cathedral ceiling to pull hot air from a wood stove to our second story bedroom hallway; runs very quietly at peak power...operated by a standard dimmer allowing lower rpms as needed; my only disappointment is that it only lasted 10 years; contacted Fantech to obtain just the motor but.....well you know, they want you to buy a whole new unit.....which I did as a result of 10 strong years of service

Great booster fan

I used as a booster fan for some under-slab duct in a cold room and it performed great-huge difference in airflow. Not loud during operation, but not unheard either. However, you'd expect a little noise with this much cfm. It's the airflow you hear, not the fan motor-it is quiet. Only real downside was that it took a bit longer than promised to be delivered.

Not loud, I have one for air circulation right above the ceiling in a theatre room. The air running through the vents makes more noise than the motor does. They also make a speed controller for the fan that works great. You can turn it down to around 10 percent all the way to 100. I have been using it for 3 years and have had no problems.

To the best of my recollection it was not bad at all. But we had it mounted about 20 feet from the restrooms we used it for. I hope this helps. GS
