PB110 remote inline bath fan removes moisture from the air with virtually no noise. With a small footprint on the bathroom ceiling, the white unobtrusive exhaust grille easily fits any bathroom design. The fan motor is located away from the bathroom which enables virtually silent operation. The ceiling exhaust grille is tied to the fan motor via an insulated flexible duct. The grille can be located over the toilet, the shower or above any other source of moisture or odor.

The product I purchased was a Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan comprising a remotely mounted fan housing connected to a passive inlet vent mounted in the ceiling of my bathroom. Remote fans of this type are quiet, efficient and, in my case, easy to service since I have access to the fan unit in my attic.The Fantech unit sold by PexSupply.com was reasonably priced [...] I will buy from PexSupply.com again, when the need arises!

4" duct Vent Damper poorly Designed and doesn't close.
I live in Colorado where it gets cold and windy. Vent Dampers matter. The design of the 4" vent leaves it about 1/4 open. A damper weight balance problem. I added a counterbalance to the damper so it would close completely. A 10-32 machine screw with 2 nuts on the end of damper. Too much time to fix someone else's bad design. Woking good now. Blower operates very quiet as desired.

Only thing I would change is that the inside vent grill wasn't plastic or that I could have upgraded it to metal but aside from that it functions as is should. And is quiet

A great fan for long term use. Not a cheap solution.

Love these things
I have installed several of these now and each customer loves them. The only sound you hear is the rushing of the air into the opening. The blower housing has sharp edges, so wear gloves. And be careful if you drill screws into the housing for hangers. One one, I wedged the cage. So I look closely now and have had no problems.

Q: Do I have to purchase the Fantech timer/switch or can I use any switch to turn the fan on/off?

I think you can use any timer switch as long as it is rated for the HP of the motor. That is what I was told. there are a couple of nice pushbutton timers in the decora style which I just purchased.

I just used the old light switch that controlled my old fan when I installed my PB110 ... But I plan on installing a timer switch at some point as I think it just makes sense. You want the fan to run for a while after you have left the bathroom and this fan is so quiet you may forget that it is on.
