HE200 TrueEASE 17 Gallon Basic Bypass Evaporative Humidifier

Great by pass humidifier. Window protection is a great feature. Honeywell PRO8000 has all the same settings as the humidistat that comes with this humidifier.

This humidifier is garbage. It is mounted with two screws at the top and two hooks at the bottom that sit over the lip of the ductwork cutout. This means you can never get the humidifier plumb, vs using 4 screws and shim if needed! The whole front doesn't come off, just a small cover at the top to access the pad making it difficult. The distributor plate design is horrible, where all the water goes down one hole rather than across the entire pad unless the little output nozzle at the top is exactly centered and exactly vertical, which is impossible! Aprilaire or General Aire are much better units. Do not buy TruEASE!!!

Unit is on my hot air furnace. It leaks constantly inside and outside the furnace. Trying to get installer to fix or replace (it is only one year old). He can't seem to figure what is wrong.

I had an existing HE200 that was installed by a certified installer. The unit was 15 years old and needed a replacement solenoid valve. The existing water supply line valve had deterioration of the seating material. This black rubber material clogged the solenoid valve. Replacement parts were almost as expensive as replacing the unit so I simply replaced the unit with a new one. I also installed a newer type valve that will not generate debris. I have never had any problems with the original unit and was very pleased with it.

In my old house I had a humidifier that never worked. We boiled water on the stove to moisten the air. I thought dry indoor air in the winter was normal. Then I sold the house and lived in an apartment over the winter. I noticed my hands were not getting chapped. I then bought another house equipped with this model. It works, and I am very pleased.

Water always seems to leak out and inside of unit. duct work is starting to rust out and I always have a puddle on the floor. Call Honeywell and they could not help. Very disappointed in the performance. Would recommend the steam unit instead!
