Description

TrueEASE humidifiers run water and air through the system when humidity is needed; using less water and saving energy by eliminating the constant cycling of air, saving customers water, energy and money. Plus, since humidified air feels warmer, customers can turn their thermostats down to help reduce heating bills.

Thanks to TrueEASE's patented design with multiple snap-into-place configuration options, obstructions such as pipes or compact spaces with tightly fit water heaters will no longer complicate installations.

Features:
  • Up to 30% Water Savings on Advanced Bypass Models - Timer-metered solenoid wets the pad only as needed, reducing water waste by as much as 30% and savings up to 5,500 gallons of water per year
  • Interchangeable Bypass - Simply remove the bypass, flip it and snap it back in place!
  • One-Piece Design - Mounting screws are located around the perimeter of the humidifier, making it easy to install in a single step rather than mounting a separate frame assembly.
  • Integrated Wiring - Push terminals make TrueEASE simple to wire and the integrated control board eliminates cost and time spent on separate relays typically required to deliver additional humidity by forcing the fan. Simply flip a DIP switch to set advanced humidification options.
  • Quick-Connect Plumbing - All plumbing is connected in a single step by attaching the hose to the quick-connect gasket
  • Familiar Footprint - Installs in the same space as existing bypass humidifiers for easy retrofit upgrades. A foam seal ensures a tight fit
  • User Friendly Pad Access - Pad replacement is accessible from the front and either side of TrueEASE Bypass models, and the easy slide-out design means there's no disassembly of the humidifier or interaction the the plumbing needed to change the pad

Advanced bypass well worth the extra cost

Used this humidifier to replace a fan powered humidifier on a return duct. The old humidifier could hardly raise the RH at all due to there being no room to install it on the supply side. The automatic damper on this is worth the additional cost as it improves efficiency of the system greatly when the humidifier is not in use.

Sure beats filling the portable humidifier every day!

I chose the largest unit, because the air flow through it is low in my system. I installed a Double Hybrid geothermal heat pump (by Energy Catalyst Technology of Albany NY), which circulates both water (to baseboards) and air (via ducts). The air flow is fairly low and I knew I wouldn't get anywhere near the advertised 17 gallons per day of water in the air. That's OK. The amount of energy needed to vaporize 17 gallons a day would be huge. I am happy with 3 or 4 gallons a day. Of course, I have no way to measure the water usage - I am just comparing the humidity level, which is running a bit higher than with the portable unit, which used 2 gallons a day.

Contractor approved!

On average, I install a half dozen of these things per year. I have found them to be the most reliable humidifier on the market. That is key with me. I've had zero call backs or warranty claims. After installation, they require nothing more than a $15 water panel and a quick clean-up with a shop vac once a year. No fancy steam canisters, or special water filters needed. Plus they only use a fraction of the electricity that the steam units require. The HE250 is the advanced model. It cycles the water on and off, just enough to keep the panel wet, but not waste a bunch of water. Be aware of this, before you claim the unit is faulty. It's designed to minimize a steady flow of water down the drain. The manual states it can be installed on supply or return ducting. I only install on return ducting. The laws of physics say water will evaporate faster when atmospheric air pressure is less. Tapping into a hot water pipe also seems to help.

Well, probably a great humidifier?

Worked for a day, Honeywell support would not help beyond the person reading diagnostic steps from a computer. The solenoid would no longer pick, I told her the coil metered ok, 24v ok, humidistat would call for water but no pick. Board had to be bad. Support said no parts because I installed, not a contractor. Supplyhouse was awesome, sent it back and bought a Aprilaire. The Honeywell had a automatic damper that only opened when there was a call for humidity, pretty cool, The Aprilaire is not as advanced, has a manual damper, no control board, just a simple 24vac solenoid

Q: Will this work with the Honeywell Prestige IAQ / true zone

Yes. This works well with my Honeywell IAQ. There are two terminals on the IAQ equipment module labeled "HUM", and those connect one-for-one to the similarly labeled terminals on the humidifier. The humidifier also requires power, which can be supplied by the furnace or by a separate 24VAC power transformer. It's a well designed unit and the installation instructions are excellent - you'll want to understand the 'wiring configuration' part of the installation guide. I've had mine for 3 years and I'm happy with the purchase.

The HE250A1005 uses an automatic damper which is opened and closed by the humidistat. The DG115 may be used with this product.
