Had I written this a few weeks ago, after installing my first 3 Honeywell double pole Tstats, it would have been 5 stars. Those 3 were a breeze to install for a pro-sumer like me. Any DIYer could muddle through, too. However, when I decided to update all my rooms and ordered 2 more of the same, I ran into a single pole Tstat (only one leg of the two 240volt wires was interrupted by the single pole Tstat) that, on the outside, looked the same as the earlier double pole ones. I called customer service number on the site provided number to exchange one double pole for a single pole. The rep was happy to oblige with a slight bump up in the price of the single. I asked if the single pole had just 2 wires and she said "yes". She then quoted the part number of the single pole, 2 wire, item and took an order over the phone that seemed to go smoothly. Next day delivery was a nice surprise, only 90 minutes away from me. Then, when I opened the box, the Tstat had 4 wires like the double pole that I was to return for a refund. I researched online and learned I could use the original double pole Tstat by disconnecting the 2 white wires in the wall box to have the same configuration as the earlier installs.....4 wires on the Tstat and 4 wires in the box. I am saddened that the rep did not know their single pole has 4 wires. If she was unsure she should have asked for advice from her tech guys. I am sending back the single pole item since the double pole works fine and has a full on/off switch. Single pole ones have only an on/standby switch....never fully off. If Supplyhouse.com sells to only pros, who know the way to install single pole vs double pole, why do they have so many instructional videos. The DIYers like me need the right info when we ask and should not be mislead. By the way....there are no install instructions on the site for a single pole. The booklet that comes with the single pole is the same one as the double pole with a different model number on the cover.

I have electric baseboard 220v which is wired 1960S shortcut style so I need two wire stats. Some 4 wire (like LUX) can be used on 2 wire systems - these cant. I called Aune in Canada who sells them to Honeywell. This series cannot be made to use on 2 wire. So some of the reviews you will read on this site are wrong as related to this. I returned them and bought 4 wire Lux which can be used for mine by capping two of the leads. Supply House is GREAT and I have used them for years and will continue to.
