Great plug and play module
Needed to add a third thermostat and didn't want the nightmare of running wires. So easy to use Honeywell components and they work so seamless together. Took less than 30 minutes to add the zone to our house!

Wireless Adapter Install
I bought a Prestige IAQ kit along with this unit to replace an IAQ 2.0 thermostat that didn't have the EIM. It was failing (restarting continually).
The new thermostat and EIM installed easily and seems to be working fine, although it has restarted a few times usually in the morning between 5 AM and 8 AM. The documentation doesn't say anything about periodic restarts. I also purchased the Wireless Adapter THM4000R1000 to ensure we were able to connect with the Redlink Gateway from the basement. There are no installation instructions for the Wireless Adapter but figured out that you don't need to push the connect button on the EIM only on the Wireless Adapter.

When the Honeywell equipment interface module is located inside the furnace or rooftop unit you must use the Honeywell wireless adapter to boost
the signal from the wireless device to the prestige thermostat.

I installed this wireless adapter to adapt 4 Honeywell TH6320R1004 Wireless FocusPRO Thermostats to a Honeywell TrueZONE HZ432K Panel Kit to control 4 zones. This system works great and so far has been trouble-free. I especially like having the remote control that can control all 4 wireless thermostats and the Honeywell THM6000R1002 Red Link Enabled Internet Gateway that allows me control all 4 zones over the internet.

There are only four wires coming to this device. Two are power and the other two are the serial connection to a device that supports this interface like a Honeywell zone control. With this box you can connect to a host of wireless Honeywell devices like an outside temperature / humidity sensor or interior thermostats.

Hello there, Not sure what you mean as far as the out side unit. This unit is use to operate wirelessly compatible equipment like a whole house humidifier and this is done by programing this unit through the thermostat. If you can elaborate a little on the question I could be of better assistant.
