Gas Test Gauge Assembly (100 psi)

Holds pressure now, after taping gauge and Shrader. Both threads leaked right out of the box.

The gauges work great and offer a leak free static test.

Looks to be decent quality at a great price. Worked great for pressurizing 1300 feet of 1/2 pex.

Do not use this assembly as delivered. I had it apart about a dozen times before I got it to seal properly. Fortunately, it's only three components and it's super-cheap. So, do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this as-is out of the box. Instead, take it apart and use pipe compound between the body and the valve. Next, use BOTH PTFE tape AND good thread compound on the threads between the body and the gauge. Tighten the gauge full. Use a lot of pipe thread compound when attaching the body to whatever. The thread work on these is simply horrid. You may need a couple of tries to get it right. I spend literally hours figuring out where my system was leaking and it was this fitting. Over and over and over again! If you can afford to use a better product, you'll save yourself hours of DIY by not buying this dreadful project. The only reason I didn't give it one star was because it can be made to work as designed. The component are okay. It's the thread tapping that's a complete disaster. And once you've assembled it properly, it'll work fine. They should not ship it assembled because the manufacturer clearly can't do that properly. Seriously, it's only three pieces! How hard could it be do get a manufacturing process down? And if you really don't like someone, give them this as a Christmas gift.
