Hello Gary, thanks for writing in. The electric cord is 20 inches.
The power cord is 20 feet in length.
The package comes with a 506804 pump, which has a 20' cord.
You should not have to. I installed mine by digging a hole at least 6-12" wider all around, lined that hole with landscaping cloth (to keep dirt and silt out) dropped the plastic basin in, then filled around the basin with coarse gravel (#57s). It has been working well for two years.
No just put river rocks all around and underneath 4 to 6 inches
It's totally 24 feet. Not sure if you are just trying to point out this error to the site managers. A 24" discharge hose would be pretty comical. It is a great kit, I have two installed right now - the first one has been running fine without any maintenance for 5 years.
