worked on bluefin stainless via va80

The valve comes partially open, so if you want to test it expect it to be open and allow flow once its snapped in place...atleast until it is powered on allowed to go full open and then allowed to cool. The first time it is powered on it will make some snap and crackle noises until it's fully open. Then once cooled it works like one would expect (normally closed when the wax is not hot) . Takes about 30 seconds to a minute to be fully open (get wax fully hot). It Will be partially open and some flow in 15-30 seconds after receiving power (after the first power cycle). Worked fine on my stainless bluefin manifold via va80 adapter.

Needed spares

Actuators go bad at the wrong time, so I needed a couple spares to have on hand. Price was great and delivery was fast.

QEST Controllers = Mr. Pex Actuator

Wanted to get this info out here on your site. I have QEST Controllers/Actuators that worked with the VA-80 adapter rings used with Rifeng (or Bulldog) manifolds. These rings are advertised to work with Mr. Pex actuators on these manifolds. I'm making the leap that QEST actuators work on anything Mr. Pex actuators do. I was pleased to learn this when I replaced my old manifold with the Bulldog 12-zone and didn't have to buy new actuators!

Works Great

It took me forever to find a 2 wire valve actuator that was compatible with my Mr. Pex manifold. All I could find were 4 wire valve actuators with end switch. Then these became available. I purchased 10 of these, connected them to my Mr. Pex Stainless Steel Manifold, wired them to my Tekmar 335 Zone Manager which is paired with a Tekmar 421 Mixing Module and they work perfectly. Because of the 335 zone manager has a built in delay, I did not require the 4 wire acuator with end switch. By the way, very easy to install.

The 2-wire cannot control a circulator pump whereas the 4-wire can.

I just want to expand on the other answer. Some setups have individual pumps for each zone. If that's what you have, the signal needs to both open the water line (via this actuator) and turn on the pump. You need 4 wires for this. If the system has only one pump for the entire system, you simply need to actuate the valve so you only need 2 wires. Hope this helps!
