Remote Temperature Sensing
Built-In Safety
- Unlike many electronic controls, the ETC is simple to install and set up. One finger is all you need to program it. The standard digital display and keypad allow the user to adjust the temperature settings with 1 degree resolution. Setpoint temperature, differential and mode of operation (heating or cooling) can all be selected using the keypad and display.
When not in the programming mode, the display gives a constant readout of the sensor temperature. Annunciators on the liquid crystal display also indicate when the relay is energized.
Remote Temperature Sensing
- The ETC is capable of remote temperature sensing up to 400 feet away from the control when using standard 22 gauge sensor wire.
Built-In Safety
- Every ETC model is equipped with diagnostic programs that check for hardware, software, or system problems and display different error codes to indicate where the trouble is.
The ETC also has a keyword lockout switch to prevent tampering with the control settings by unauthorized personnel. The switch, which is located inside the enclosure, can be used to disable the keypad function.

Excellent control & very easy to use
Much better performance than mechanical controls. Very stable. It just works. Temperature readout is a big plus. I used it to lock out heat pump strip heat - remote sensor makes this easy to install. Used another one to control "misting fans" for spot cooling. Flawless performance.

Nice control if they were only reliable
I bought this control to replace one that failed in less than a year. I have dozens of these in service and the failure rate is unacceptable. Ranco has not responded to my emails.

It work for hot water tank
My wel McLain hot water tank thermostat failed and replace it with a factory thermostat and fail again in a year. I use this one for 6 years already and still working. Only issue is the temperature setting you need to adjust to what you think is appropriate. The hot water tank supposed to at 120 degrees. I have this set at 90 degrees and the water already hot enough.

I used this control on my buffer tank. I was confused for over a week. My tank wouldn't reach certain temp. The probe itself does not provide accurate reading when I compared with other probes. It was off over 10 degrees. Very disappointed.....

First one lasted 15 years
This is straightforward and versatile. The first one I had lasted 14 years and then quit--started giving an error message. That's not bad, although would be nicer if it lasted even longer. It looks like the circuitry has been modernized, so maybe the new version will last longer.

My 1st Heat control that works great for my application and
I use this to control for three (3) Dayton forced air heaters. One control per heater and this temperature controller is working great. I use a simple on/off toggle switch to turn the sensor on and off. Great product
