I do MANY 2nd floor bathroom remodels, above occupied spaces, and seldom get to choose my starting elevation because I am connecting to an existing cast iron waste stack. I get all the underfloor piping done and tested, except for the closet flange, because the sub floor is non existent yet, I have only a 90 ell looking up at me. It is often the case that after the sub floor and tile under-lay are down, the remaining space does not permit me to use a standard over pipe flange or inside fitting flange because the dimensions are what they are. This 6" long flange allows me to cut it to the desired length without compromising the integrity of a regular fitting. I recently had to retrofit 4 closet flanges in a remodeled house where they had removed the original flooring and replaced it with a thin vinyl plank floor. The existing PVC ringed flanges were sticking up about an 1-1/2" above the new floor, and 2 of them were busted anyway. (I despise PVC rings.) Cut the risers, used a REED socket saver to remove the old pipe from the fitting below, and installed the new street closet flanges and toilets. Combine these with stainless steel screws to hold it to the floor, and all is well in the world.
I will be buying another batch soon.
The ABS version recently came in handy as well.

loose fit and standard flange bolts just spin
As another person commented once it is cut to needed length it is a loose fit, there is no interference between the hub and the flange. It *should* be ok once glued, but it is not proper.
Also a standard "T" flange bolt will simply spin in the hub....unfortunately a problem many flanges have, so they are not alone, not that it makes it any better though.

Worked Perfectly
There's a post here that claims, when this product is cut down, it doesn't fit the hub snugly. I cut one down to 2 3/4 inches long and it glued into a 3 inch hub perfectly. Good Product. O.D. is basically same O.D. of 3 inch pipe size.

Worked for tying into 3" copper drain pipe
I cut off a copper flange and connected this flange to a 1" stub that I left above a 90 degree elbow using a Proflex 3007-33 shielded coupling. The extended barrel allowed for the simplified connection which otherwise could have involved more than 2 parts and would have taken up more vertical space than I had.

Just what I needed
Redid the floors in my bathroom. Subfloor was rotted under one of the toilets. Had to tear out the flange and pipe underneath. The pipe elbows directly under the floor. After the new tile was installed, the new flange did not extend far enough in to the hub on the elbow. And I could not find anything that worked in the local hardware stores.
This thing was a lifesaver. Cut it to length and perfect fit! They should all be like this, seriously!

Great speciality flange fro special applications
Regardless of your application the tail can be cut to fit the 3" hub when varied floor depths are needed. Stainless ring prevents rusting and corrosion. Great deal!

Once cut down does not fit snug in hub
The point of buying this 6" long barrel is to be able to cut it to length to what is needed When done so it does not fit snug in hub. I am worried that once glued it will not fit tight and thats not good.
