Description

Resideo Braukmann AM-1-025RP AM-1 Repair Kit (STD and R Models) is a factory replacement kit for selected Braukmann AM-1 series thermostatic mixing valves, used to restore internal control components on standard (STD) and R model assemblies.

Key Features:
  • OEM Resideo Braukmann repair kit for AM-1 series mixing valves
  • Includes replacement internal cartridge and related components as supplied in the kit
  • Designed to restore temperature control performance without replacing the complete valve body
  • Compatible with both standard (STD) and R model AM-1 valves identified for this kit

Compatibility & Applications:
  • Intended for use on Resideo Braukmann AM-1 series thermostatic mixing valves that list AM-1-025RP in the official parts information
  • Suitable for domestic hot water mixing applications where the existing AM-1 valve body remains in good condition
  • Used when outlet temperature drift, sluggish response, or internal wear is identified during service

Installation & Operation Notes:
  • Isolate the valve from the system and relieve pressure before beginning work
  • Follow Resideo Braukmann service instructions for disassembling the AM-1 valve and removing the existing internal cartridge
  • Install the new parts from the AM-1-025RP kit in the orientation shown in the manufacturer's literature, then reassemble the valve body
  • After reassembly, restore water supply, purge air, and adjust the mixed outlet temperature to the required setting
  • Verify stable mixed temperature over several draw cycles before returning the system to normal operation

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Use the repair kit when cleaning cannot restore smooth operation or when the internal components show signs of scaling, wear, or sticking
  • Periodically check system strainers and upstream filtration to limit debris that may affect valve performance
  • If temperature control issues continue after kit installation, verify inlet temperature and pressure conditions and confirm that the valve is correctly sized for the application

Perfect Fix

This kit is for replacing the internals of a Honeywell AM-1 H/C mixing valve. My valve was letting too much cold water in because one part had failed -- well water. A repair kit is a better option than a complete new valve. All you need to do is shut off the furnace and close off the water supply. Then, open the kitchen faucet to relieve the pressure. Follow the enclosed directions and it will take 30 minutes to eliminate your problem, and a lot less money. Beyond average tools the only additional items you may need is some coffee pot cleaner (scale remover) and a Q-Tip or small stiff brush for the inside of the (existing) valve body. Everything was an exact replacement.

Inconsistent Quality

Identical to original equipment part, arrived well packed, and for a good price. Appeared to be a perfect fix. However replacement part failed to maintain temperature after a couple days. Cleaned, lubricated, and reinstalled without resolution. Replacing entire valve restored consistent service. Failure may have been a defect in housing vs. part - was unable to identify root cause of failure. Noting that even the new Honeywell Sparco mixing valves have inconsistent quality reports, I suspect the same applies to the repair kits. Where these values are great when they work, install easily, and appear to be fully serviceable, the design appears to operate successfully only within very fine tolerances.

Good quality

We've had an issue with minimal hot water being supplied to our fixtures for years (oil tankless coil boiler). This repair kit fixed the issue. We now have consistent hot water. It didn't come with instructions but between YouTube and forums it wasn't too hard to figure out.

Works Great - Mixing Valve operating like new!

Replaced the "cartridge" in my 13 year old mixing valve - we were not able to get any real hot water. Now works like new!

5 stars because the cleaning instructions worked

I've put this into storage since the instructions to clean the valve worked. Glad to have it on hand for the next time this valve goes off. Before cleaning, hot water had become occasionally cold while showering and pressure would fluctuate as well. After cleaning with white vinegar performance is solid. Thanks to AM for making this a serviceable valve!

I would but this product again.

This product is used to repair the inner workings of a mixing valve (anti-scald valve). This product can be hard to find locally but it is regularly in stock at Supply House, and at competitive pricing.

Exactly what I needed

I have hard water and I'm not sure if the one in the mixer had failed or if all the build up was not allowing it to function properly. My water was coming out luke warm. no matter how much I adjusted the valve. I replaced this item and in the process cleaned up all the calcium build up and now wonderful hot water again. Make sure to go around and clean all the screens after doing this if you have alot of build up, all my faucets including my clothes washer screens caught so much residue they were barely trickling. Now great pressure and hot water again. You are suppose to clean this unit out once a year, but I never did that with any of my previous mixing valve and the latest one stopped working after 3 years. Perhaps I will clean yearly moving forward.

Using this product for a decade.

Mixing valve cracked 2x and replaced under warranty. The 2nd time I replaced both mixing valve repair kit and Aqua-stat (was no longer holding set temp 130 F. degrees). sink/shower mixed temp set at 120 F.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Re: The product: AM-1 Repair Kit STD and R Models; SKU: AM-1-025RP. I have a mixing valve labeled Honeywell Sparco, AM Series, ASSE 1016-7; ASSI 1017, with a rating 100 - 145 F. Is the AM-1-025 RP kit the proper one for my existing valve? I would much rather just replace the insides than try to replace the entire valve. Would it be useful to get any of the other parts at the same time, such as: AM-1 Gasket Kit for Series Mixing Valve SKU: AMU200-RP or: AM-1 Union Model Check Valve Replacement SKU: AMCU100 I would like to do this only once and do it right so the valve lasts another 24 years. Thanks.

AM-1-025 RP would be the right kit for AM-1 series valves with a temperature rating of 100-145 like the one you have. The replacement of other parts is totally up to you, the consumer, and whether your valve needs it. I suppose replacing items like gaskets and check valves can't hurt and could be beneficial.

The Sparco AM102 has two available replacement kits depending on the temperature rating. The C model valve (70-120 degrees) uses the AM-1-020RP replacement kit. The STD model (70-145 degrees) uses the AM-1-025RP kit.

double check the temp. range, that kit is for 70-130, there is another kit for 110-145.

Q: The supply house description says max temp of 130deg but the box and user guide says 180deg. Also it says it is okay to use with "R"series which goes to 180deg. I have two AM102R-US-1 valves and would like to buy this for spare parts, just want to be certain it goes to 180deg

Q: I have a Sparco AM102-US 110-145F tempering valve 1". I can no longer adjust the temperature, and the plastic knob seems to be stripped as well. What does the STD and R Model represent? What parts are included in this repair kit? Does it include a new knob?

STD means that you can use the kit for heating or plumbing. R products are approved for heating only. This product only contains the element (includes neither knob nor valve body).
