Description

The model 222053, polymer plastic condensate trap is only to be used with the Rinnai / Ubbink non-condensing concentric bi-flow vent system for a Rinnai LS, RL, RV or V Series Tankless Water Heater. Condensate collector

The connections are a little slippery. Not hard to solve however. It's not the clamps, it's not the hose. It's a little thing called the coefficient of friction. Simply get a small tube of 3M weather strip adhesive. Put a thin film on the hose barbs. Assemble and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Simple to install, and looks to be a quality product. If you're investing in a Tankless water heater, get this if your application calls for a condensate trap.

Poorly made

The condensate trap part is made of thin plastic, it does not hold its shape when you put the clamps on it. The hoses constantly slip off the fitting again because it is so thin and also it was not made with any type of ridges on it that might help hold the hose in place. I switched from the clamps that came with it and tried to use metal worm gear clamps but the situation was no better. I have over 27 years and heating and air-conditioning business

Good concept, has design flaw

Good concept but the issue is with keeping the hose on the tube ends. The end tube are smooth and should have hose barbs, when installing the hose it fits up nice but while clamping the hose down with the provided clamps the hose just slips right off.

Product seems to do the job.

Product was used on a Rinnai Tankless Water heater to collect condensation.

Works well

I got rid of the black hose and used a clear hose to keep an eye on whether or not it is working properly.

For the price it needs improved

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. As several others stated the hose that comes with the kit slides off when you try to tighten the clamp on both the trap and the rubber adapter that goes onto the HWH outlet. Save yourself some money and go with the looped hose shown in the HWH instructions.
