The Heatguard® 110-D is a Temperature Actuated Mixing Valve that mixes hot water with cold to deliver tempered water at a controlled temperature to 120°F (49°C) maximum and is designed to assist in the prevention of scalding.
The Heatguard® 110-D is intended for installation at the water heater to distribute controlled temperature water through a domestic hot water system.
The SharkBite® Heatguard® 110-D incorporates a fast acting, high quality thermostatic element that senses the outlet water temperature and reacts to maintain a stable delivery temperature even under changing flows or variations in supply temperatures. The valve also greatly reduces the outlet flow in the event of a cold water supply failure.

This purchase is to replace an existing mixing valve
I would say that the reason that I needed to replace the mixing valve was probably more my fault than the fault of the product. The lines had a lot of black stuff in them, which probably makes it easy to clog the mixing valve. But the valve is super easy to adjust, and works perfectly.

Installed easy
Installed this thing fast when I was re-plumbing. I was able to turn up my hot water heater 20-25 degrees. Now I don't worry when i'm the last to shower in my family, because I still have hot water. I did not need to adjust the Thermostatic mixing valve setting. It was already set to a good temp. We did notice that it requires the shower to be set hotter for comfort. So I know the valve is doing it's job.

Simple, Works Great
I bought this to use, for an outdoor shower. I tapped off of the hot and cold water lines in the attic of the house, then ran one line outside to a pull chain valve with a rain shower. Made the job simple. Adjusted the temperature and it stays consistent.
Supply House has the best price on this type of unit.

The check valves are BUILT IN.
This is a fantastic valve, easy to install - love the shark bite fittings! and it has built in check ball valves NOT flaps. What I don't understand about the reviewer who asked where are the check valves, he called, had to order some, etc is you can see the valves in each end!

Where are the check valves ?
I asked online if there were check valves with the unit. I never got a responce. There were none and I had to buy a seperate check valve I saw a mixing valve at home depot and it had check valves. It was made by your company. Why don't all units have check valves?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouseHi Dans! No additional sealant should be used when installing the Push-to-Connect ends of SharkBite fittings directly onto the approved piping types since these fittings create a water tight seal using an O-ring on the surface of the pipe.
