Worth the extra cost

Installed these at a community pool where they will be exposed to hot temps in summer and very cold winters as the room is a shuttered snack bar. These seem more substantial and durable than the standard ball valves that are offered. Haven't seen any leak in the two years I've been using them. The small valve handles can get a little stiff in hard water situations if not turned on/off frequently.

Doesn't look like Uponor bored out right

I got these in both 1/2" and 3/4". The 1/2" is fine. The 3/4 looks like they punched / cut the brass roughly but didn't bore/ream it out after that. The result looks like it will cause restriction / reduced flow (the hole looks only slightly bigger than the 1/2" "large bore". PexSupply called Uponor who says this is correct - i can't imagine how? I'm not expected full port, but this just looks wrong. I'm using these to feed recirc line and high flow valves on roman tub and multi head shower. Think i'll use normal 3/4" sweat valve with the propex adapters in stead and return

Works perfectly

We were installing a bathtub to existing plumbing. The faucet was chrome then to copper then to uponor pex. Never having worked with chrome, my husband decide to put in shut off valves. Well. It leaked! At least the whole house wasn't without water while it got figured out!

Hard to find Uponor fittings

With the supply chain shortages some PEX compression fittings have been harder to source. One local N. Florida supplier told me they had been out of stock on 1 fitting for several months. Thanks Supply House for having what I needed to finish my house.

Good valve

Appears to be a good valve but the handle is a bit short, you have to apply lot of pressure to close.

Excellent choice

We are using these in a rebuild/remodel of a classic Airstream trailer. They are perfect for this as their compact size allows us to easily get to them even in tight spaces. They work beautifully. Highly recommend and we will use them again in other projects.

Very good quality valves.

I like to use these valves with my proPEX tubing. 1/4 turn makes them very easy to use. I use the the chrome version on the toilet supply line and before vanity faucets.

Excellent product

Excellent quality and it has a smaller footprint than tradition shut off valves.

Better than original

These replaced original ones installed 23 years ago. Better than original and will go back to cycling them at least once a year. Original had "thin" handles and had not moved in 20 years.

Yes I'd definitely buy these again

I'm using this ProPex ball valve on my manifold I made, this is one of a total of 10 I'm quite happy with these.

Q: Why can't these valves be used with Glycol systems? What is an alternative that can be used with Glycol systems?

Uponor does not make any ProPEX ball valves that are compatible with glycol. We are not sure why they do not recommend the valves with glycol, but it may have something to do with the gasket material. Our only suggestion would be to use a standard threaded ball valve with ProPEX adapters.

I called uponor today and asked this question. They told me that it is due to the material used to seat the ball valve. They said it would leak! I was told they made one but stopped due to low demand. I feel it's because they want you to buy a more expensive manifold!
