Starter PEX Press Tool Set (1/2" & 3/4" Press Tools)

This tool very easy to use and make solid connections. I have used this tool for last 10 years and feel very confident with it. I think that it is a solid investment and one that I would recommend to anyone.

These tools aren't cheap, but I am very glad I purchased this system. I bought these to repipe my own home with PEX. I have done other jobs with copper and PVC/CPVC, but I have never had a job go so fast or easy. The Viega press fittings have the crimp ring attached and these tools fit exactly where you need them to be with no real opportunity for error unless you let the PEX tube slip out. I read other reviews that said the included tubing cutter is cheap. Well, it is plastic, but it cuts a nice square end, fits in my pocket, and is simple to use, so I am very happy with it. As others suggest, do as many crimps outside of tight spaces first because these tools are long for leverage and fitting into tight spots can be a problem. I would buy these again.

If you really wanted the beginner to buy this you should have included the prep tool and discarded that toy tubing cutter. How is the beginner supposed to get started without a prep tool? Keep it the same price and include the prep tool. Then your spin to the beginner will be honest. I have seen these crimpers online for $30 less. Make it worth it!

Well crafted tools that do the job. Worth every penny. Case has spots for extra press tools.

Great value, great product Would buy it again, but then again, I won't have to!

I am an amature. Project is a 1,000 sq ft cottage with bath, kitchen and utility room with w/d. I bought the tools rather than rent/borrow so that I could use when I wanted. The first crimp was a confidence builder. Instructions are simple and straightforward. Make sure tubing is visible through the witness hole, align tool perpendicular to fitting, position it on the sleeve and crimp. Ratcheting tool will not release until crimp is completed, so there's no guess work. Pressure test revealed "0" leaks.

As a DIY Home owner with multiple leaks under my slab (over a two year period). PEX was the best solution. Knowing I was going to need the tools I selected this system as the best bang for the buck. The Viega Starter system has all of the tools you will need for the average home. Easy to use, well made, durable tools. The blow mold case is sturdy and well designed, making it easy to store the tools in a handy carry case as you move tools between connection points.
