This product does not comply with the "Safe Drinking Water Act," which requires that products meet low-lead standards in order to be used in systems providing water for human consumption (drinking or cooking). This item is for non-potable (non-human consumption) water applications only."
Series 9D Dual Check Valves with Intermediate Atmospheric Vent prevent the reverse flow of hot or cold polluted water from entering into the potable water supply. It consists of a brass body with stainless steel internal parts, integral strainer, and two durable, tight-sealing, rubber check valves. Series 9D is designed for continuous pressure, non-health hazard applications in smaller supply lines, such as laboratory equipment, processing tanks, sterilizers, dairy equipment, and specifically for boiler feed lines.
Minimum Working Pressure: 25psi (172kPa), Maximum Working Pressure: 175psi (12.06 bar).

Watts 1/2" 9D-M3 Backflow Preventer with Intermediate Vent
The 3.5 year old Backflow Preventer on the house boiler heating system was slowly leaking inlet water from the atmospheric vent. This new Backflow Preventer was delivered quickly and is an exact match replacement. This new Backflow Preventer was installed in about 20 to 30 minutes and does not leak (slow water leak fixed).

Pipe threads machined too deep in union
Pipe threads machined too deep in union fitting. Fitting bottomed out on nipple before tightening causing a leak. I had to use one of the union fitting from the old unit to fix leak.

Does what it's supposed to
The installation of this is straightforward and the unions seated easily first try. This was required by the local plumbing inspector for installation of our steam generator which he viewed as a small boiler. Instructions on this unit do require drain line as it is considered normal operation for this unit to spit water.

Same size but different unions from BBFP
Purchased to replace an old leaking unit that was labeled as a Regtrol BBFP. The 9D-M3 has more or less identical dimensions, but the unions use a different thread so changing out required slightly more work than I expected. Overall an easy replacement.

Direct replacement of previous valve, would buy again
This was an exact fit from the previous valve. Took under 5 mins to swap out. Beware if you have an older version the valve the size of the nut will be different and will take you some more time to swap.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe 3/4" Watts 9DM2 is part number 0061888. The repair kit for that unit is part 0886010. It includes the diaphragm assembly, disc assembly, seat, seat o-ring, and two union seals.
