Purchased for Handle
An identical valve was used in the installation of my sprinkler system. The valve was installed near the water meter in a meter box that fills with water every time it rains. After two years of the service, the valve handle was so corroded it would not open and close the valve. The data sheet for this purchased valve indicated that the handle is zinc plated, so I purchased the valve just for the handle. NOTE TO MARKETERS: please provide a stainless steel replacement handle available for purchase to the public. Before installing the handle, I sprayed it with several coats of exterior rust-inhibiting paint just as an added precaution. After a few weeks of service and several rains, the handle is already exhibiting signs of rust. Hopefully, by the time the handle needs replacing, someone will have read my note and a stainless steel replacement handle will be available.
