The Uponor ProPEX® Lead-free Copper Stub Ell provides a 90° transition from AquaPEX® tubing to copper. The copper ell is a 1/2" copper tube with ProPEX fitting on one end and the other end spun closed.

Out of round and metal striations
These stubs are very convenient and I've used them before, but this particular batch for a whole house had quality issues. The copper where the valve goes was slightly out of round (easy fix) and the metal was grooved (major headache). Those grooves and compression fittings don't mix well and you have to crank down the fittings extra super tight to stop leaks. I would not recommend these open ended ells due to the striated tubing. But the closed stubs instead, they seem to come with better quality smooth copper and the compression fittings are easy. Uponor - please fix your quality issues!

Based on the thickness I observed during my install of 10 of these, I would say it is the "blue" stuff (can't recall the code of the thicker of the two).

Q: do you have to use the bend support bracket with the copper ell and wall supports. What holds this in place when used for supply lines
