The Wilkins Model ZW1017XLHT higher temperature range Aqua-Gard Tempering Mixing Valve, when installed at the hot water source, is designed for radiant heating systems only and not for potable water use. The ZW1017XLHT is designed to mix the hot and cold water to establish a mixed temperature range of 80F to 165F.

Q: This valve is "lead free", can we use it in a radiant heating distribution system to provide our mix temps of 120-145 in a configuration which is interconnected with the domestic water heater. The valve is NOT being used for anti-scald just for mixing the radiant floor loop down to the set point
