M12 ProPEX Expansion Tool Kit with 1/2", 3/4", and 1" Heads, (2) M12 XC Batteries, Charger

Great tool. Easy, Quick, leak free connections.

I've installed water softeners and filtration systems. I also recently was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to plumb a whole bathroom. I had tight spots that this more compact M12 version could get into. I've had my eyes on the M18 version and it seems like to much tool unless your into full time commercial plumbing and even then the M12 could get a lot done. To have both would be the best in the commercial setting. The M12 pex expander tool however is ideal for all residential with a light amount of commercial applications. It makes pex plumbing a breeze when it comes to making the connections. If you het the XC 3.0 batteries the tool stands up right and you don't have to bend over so much for it.

I recently bought an old house to renovate where all the copper supply pipes were busted from freezing. After pouring over the different ways to go about repairs, I decided to buy in to the Uponor expansion fittings and tubing. The total cost to redo all the supply lines in the house was ~$500. Then the cost of this tool was $500. I could hardly justify that at first, until I looked at the manual options available, and for this house, I wasn't quite sure how I'd be able to crimp or expand manually while contorted under the house in the crawlspace. I decided to buy and was glad I did. The tool and Uponors system made this a breeze for a complete plumbing novice. I was able to make connections in tight areas and configure everything no problem. There were a bunch of connections I could never have done by myself in a tight area, on my back, under the house with a manual tool. Buy once, cry once definitely applies to this tool. Tool performance was excellent with 1/2" and 3/4" line. I did not do any 1". I used maybe 1/2 battery for the entire house and was done in less than 8 hours which included running all the PEX and securing it to joists. Again, all thanks to the tool. Now that I have it, I've been thinking about other projects where supply lines are now a none issue. It's so easy and extremely reliable. I realise this review is not just for the tool itself but also for Uponor plumbing. I had no leaks at all after hooking up to the supply line. Reliable, repeatable. Awesome tool.
