D-508F digital non-programmable heat only thermostat is designed to control either ambient(air) temperature (A Mode) or floor
temperature (F Mode) or a combination of ambient temperature with floor temperature limits(AF Mode). An auxiliary remote sensor is provided to measure slab temperature in order to control the floor temperature(within maximum and minimum limits in AF Mode). It can also be used for sensing the outdoor temperature in A Mode.

- Easy-to-Read Digital Multi-Display with backlit which provides constant readout of two sensor temperatures(eg. ambient and floor) and setpoint simultaneously, functional status and control settings.
- Three temperature control modes:
- A Mode: controls ambient temperature
- F Mode: controls floor temperature. Also displays current ambient temperature.
- AF Mode: controls the ambient temperature and maintains the floor temperature within the desired minimum limit for floor warming and maximum limit for protecting floor coverings. Also, displays current floor temperature.
- A Mode: controls ambient temperature
- QuickSet feature allows instant setpoint adjustment without entering the SETTING mode

Nice looking. Does a nice job.
I purchased 2 of these thermostats for 2 separate in-floor heating systems. The first one is now up and running. These thermostats are being used in service bay areas with service doors that open to the outside. It was important to have a thermostat that monitored and controlled the floor temperature since the air temperature fluctuates drastically when the service doors are opened. The thermostat is a nice looking and well built unit that is made in Canada. It is very easy to set up and configure. It has a nice looking display that is powered by the 24vac off the heating system. It uses an EPROM so it won't loose settings. There are no batteries to worry about going bad or needing to be changed. The only annoying thing I noticed was if you change the temperature setting while the thermostat is calling for heat, the thermostat must momentarilly release the call for heat causing the heating system to momentarilly shut off, reset, and start back up. This really is of no concern though since this is not a normal operation. Once the temperature is set and you leave it, the thermostat operates as it should. I plan on buying and putting more of these thermostats in.

Functions fine but.....
This is not a Supply House complaint. But the unit itself does not quite measure up to my expectations. It functions fine, but I broke a cover flimsy tab the first time after making the connections. Then when you enter the press mode, the screen charactors are quite faint and you have to stoop down to read them.

We purchased 4 of the D-508F. Two went bad within a year, so we had to purchased two more. The two new Tstat did not work, nor their replacements Returned all four and purchase a different model#. Supply House was great to work with

Perfect all option solution
Using the unit on radiant heated slab in my shop. Because there is a big difference between the floor temperature and the air I was spending way too much to heat the area. Being able to adjust the floor temp to a constant with the sensor I have lowered my bills and have a fairly consistent air temp. Not using the outdoor sensor option, but it's there if I need it in the future.

Works well when it works
Bought 4 of these thermostats. One didn't function properly so bought a replacement and all are now working as expected. In spite of this bit of trouble I would highly recommend them for a radiant heating system. Didn't bother returning the one because I didn't want to take the trouble (too lazy).

Q: Hi, I was told by my plumber to order a thermostat with 2 wires for my bedrooms and one with 4 wires for our bathrooms. We're in the process of having our radiant floor heating installed. This thermostat doesn't say anything about how many wires are included. Would you happen to know if I can use this one for both the 2 wire and 4 wire rooms? Thank you for your help.
