Horrible experience with this model
Within the first year, the whole unit had to be replaced and Buderus paid for the new unit plus the installer fees to put it in. Its been 8 years and I needed service frequently to fix random leaks. Finally, after 8 years, I need a new unit because leaks can no longer be fixed apparently. It is no surprise that this model is discontinued. But should I ever trust the same company again? The boiler that was replace was 30+ years old and worked great, and I only replaced it because I wanted to switch to Nat Gas.

10 years in service with zero issues !
I updated my entire heating system in the spring of 2008 and the Buderus 142 condensing wall hung furnace looked good to me with the best efficiency ratings on the market at the time. With almost $3000 in rebates it wasn't hard for me to go ahead and I don't regret it. My Natural Gas bill was cut in half too ! I'm so pleased with how reliable and quiet this boiler is, I have to open my basement door and listen closely to hear if its running. My gas supplier sends me a letter every year to let me know I'm number 2 out of 100 local customers who use the least amount of gas each heating season. I have nothing bad to say about this wonderful heating system, makes my hot water too.

not worth the plastic its made from
spent thousands to have the so-called best most efficient system in my new 5,000 sf. home pulled a 96 on energy star test . burn 2500 gal propane in a normal heating season ! was told I would use 1500 gal in a extreme winter 2013-2014 3100gal have had service 4 to 5 times a season just to keep it running thank God I also have 18sear heat pumps so we don't freeze buying a Well McLane cast iron system to replace this piece of Junk. DO-NOT WAIST ANY OF YOUR MONEY ON THIS SYSTEM YOU WILL BE SORRY LIKE ME

Q: I am considering installing a new Buderus GB 142/45 boiler in a home being rennovated. The calculated heat load is 129K BTU/Hr. We plan to run 4 zones of DHW, 1 zone of radiant (using an XBlock) and an indirect hot water tank. Fuel is propane, can a NG unit be converted to LPG? Are prefabicated distribution manifolds be purchased?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYes, the boiler comes with a conversion kit for LP gas. The boiler does come with a pre-piped primary manifold. We also offer radiant heat manifolds

Q: If I install myself (20 years as a private small HVAC guy) does the Buderus Boiler retain the factory warrantee or do I need a Buderus certified guy to install to retain warrantee? If so how can I get certified?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYou should be able to install it yourself, as long as your principal occupation is the sale and installation of plumbing, heating and/or air conditioning equipment. You also must act in accordance with the Buderus Installation and Servicing Instructions and Engineering manuals for the boiler.
