Yes, Fantech DBF4XL is safety certified by ETL to UL507.
Yes. Properly supported it will operate in any orientation. Mine is on an angle in the attic near the exit point through the roof. Dave Fretz
I mounted my horizontally & it seems to work OK. Sometimes the air flow switch on the fan seems a little sensitive.
The fan can be installed anywhere in the line, but you should use a lint trap (part DBLT4) if the fan is within 15 feet of the dryer. When the fan and dryer are this close together, the fan may pull lint from the dryer.
Needs to be installed 5 foot up off the floor also need a lint trap installed before the power vent
The included directions state where the recommended place for installing the dryer booster. If I remember correctly they state if close to the dryer you may need to install a secondary lint trap. Works great! I have a 18 foot run with 8 elbows, my drying time is cut in half. The only problem that I have is the booster creates a vacuum when turned on, so the unit will cycle off and on during a drying cycle after the two minute delay, yet still works great. I have not messed with diaphragm placement to get better results. Great buy. Sean DeSouza Excellence in Construction
You should use the DBF110 booster fan kit.
Yes get the lint trap, I was amazed how much it picks up from a 5 year ole whirlpool Neptune high end dryer. I would attempt to clean out the existing piping as much as you can as well. The amount of fuzz that came out of mine was a lot more than i thought. I have the DBF4XL fan and am happy. It is nearly silent.
Sounds like you are faced with a similar situation which I resolved with the DBF4XL with FG4XL fan. I was amazed on how well this has improved the dry time of our laundry. You can see my original review. "1 Screw Loose". To this day I feel that this was one of my better investments. I had fought this situation for several years and can not remember how I stumbled on this product. I do know that the moisture buildup in my duct system has disappeared. As far as the additional lint trap is concerned it is a value added. Can not believe how much additional lint it catches before being trapped in my duct work. Only thing is that I had to remember to clean the lint out of it but after a while I just reach in and remove the lint when I am in the basement.
The fan should run for 10 minutes after the dryer has stopped.
