Fantech FKD direct drive, mixed flow centrifugal fans blend the high flow of axial fans with the higher pressure, non-overloading characteristics of backward curved impellers. An excellent choice for exhaust or supply applications where quieter performance and easy installation are important. Perfect for commercial and institutional structures such as offices, hospitals, beauty salons, veterinary clinics as well as residential applications such as kitchen range hood exhaust.

Great performance at reasonable price
We replaced the fan in our Viking range hood with this in line fan installed in duct work the attic and combined it with a Fantech LD10 silencer using Fantech LC10 mounting clamps to connect the two. The result is impressive. We have ample air flow in the range hood and the noise is not much more than the air condition at lower levels and more noticeable but still far better than the original Viking fans when switched on at highest level. The Viking control knob works with this fan.

i do not recommend this product and I'm looking for a different source and product to use, these fans come with a 3-year warranty and i reached out to supply house with my documentation and they told me I had to call fan tech support even though I bought this motor from supply house.
I reached out to Fantech on Dec 5th, and they asked why i was the one calling as i did not buy it from them and they said they will reach back out to me in 5 business days and I'm still waiting (I called 2 weeks later and Fantech said they will busy and will get back to me when they can.)

This is to replace one that is only 2 years old
i do not recommend this product and I'm looking for a different source and product to use, these fans come with a 3-year warranty and i reached out to supply house with my documentation and they told me I had to call fan tech support even though I bought this motor from supply house.
I reached out to Fantech on Dec 5th, and they asked why i was the one calling as i did not buy it from them and they said they will reach back out to me in 5 business days and I'm still waiting (I called 2 weeks later and Fantech said they will busy and will get back to me when they can.)

Broken out of the box
Broken out of the box. Also uses a glue which doesn't bind to the motor controller plastic in an attempt to hold it to the sheet metal.

Very quiet and effective exhaust fan for range.
I installed this as an attic range hood vent fan. I did use the silencer tube with this. The fan is so quiet I do not need a variable speed control. I mounted this with vibration isolaters (rubber mounts ordered from zoro) and the rubber strap clamps for 10 inch hvac tubing. My model is the 10XL and replaces a roof mounted thermador fan.
