I consider this Fernco seal to be the guaranteed perfect solution to toilet installs. The seal tightly seals to a perfectly clean bottom on the toilet. And then the barbs perfectly seal the 3" PVC. In my humble opinion, one can't ask for more...and a wax seal can't compete. Plus, it is very affordable. As I recall, bleach products can damage it, so consider or check on that. Also, if your toilet flange is on top of the tile, as it should be, then there is a hard "lip" on this seal that can keep some bidets/toilets from fully seating onto the floor; a slight, say, 1/4" lift...which will require shimming. It all depends on how recessed the toilet's bottom connection is. I find the permanent solution worth the shimming, if required, plus it is not uncommon for shimming to be require in any case.

Wrong thing for what I needed
I installed this for a wall discharge toilet. The problem was that the fitting in the wall was an elbow so the part of this seal that went into the wall hit the elbow and clamped it down. This stuck to the toilet like crazy. But due to the limited depth that I had it did not work. I can see where this would be great for a floor mounted toilet that had enough depth. If your floor mounted has a quick elbow this might not be the part for you.

All I use
This seal is the perfect solution to a permanent toilet seal. The only issues seem to be that the hard "lip", that ends up on top of the toilet flange, in the floor, makes a bidet sit "proud" compared a wax seal. Seats perfectly w/ a regular tiolet as a toilet bottom is higher from the floor than a bidet, apparently. I simply shim/caulk the bidets. Also, I believe one can't use bleach products, i.e., the blue hanging cleaners or any product with bleach in it, but I might be wrong, check the package as to whether bleach is allowed. But let me say that it is a permanent, never leaks, tight solution to installing a toilet to the drain. The seal's glue to the unit is strong and the barbed fitting into the flange is tight.

Only seal I use...
Eliminates the wax ring and its issues. The glue it uses to attach to the toilet is heavy-duty. And the barb-end tightly seals to the 3" PVC. it is the perfect solution for most brands of toilets. However, we also used it with our two Casta Diva toilets and the bottom toilet "throat" is too low on those, if one uses this Fernco seal. The Fernco has a rigid "shoulder" that limits how much it can compress. We are about one toilet shim too high so we just shim and caulk it, but be aware. Other than that, an awesome product.

Glue is very weak
I like this flange but the glue is weak. It came apart very easily. I had to resort to another adhesive. Seems to be holding well so far but time will tell.

So far so good
best method i found so far. makes install very easy, can reset if needed. I assume that if the sticky glue doesn't matter once it is in place than it should be nearly impossible to ever have a problem.

Perfect solution to toilet sealing
I have never had one of these fail. Whereas wax rings can easily fail upon installing or at any time thereafter. Easy to mount to toilet...the glue on this item is serious. I do spray non-stick spray (vegetable oil) on the barbs to help it slide in easily. If placed on the toilet exactly, it also helps align the toilet. Solves my toilet sealing issues, permanently. And it is not expensive and is well-made.

better than there wax ring
Easy to use and I feel more confident in setting the toilet with this seal than the traditional wax ring.
