RedLINK Internet Gateway

I wanted to access my thermostats through wifi so I thought i was going to have to replace the thermostats the builder installed, but after some research i realized if i replaced the thermostats i was going to lose the ability to control the outside air damper, which only certain Honeywell thermostats are wired to do, such as the ones the builder installed in my house. After further research, i learned that the red link is an accessory that, when added, i can access my thermostats through Wifi, plus buy additional sensors which allow a bit more automation in my home. This unit has allowed me to access both thermostats with my phone when I'm away from my house or when I wake up in the morning and i just want it to be a bit warmer before i get out of bed... ;>). Additionally, i purchased the fresh separate fresh air damper controller (which is basically a timer with 20, 40, and 60 min options). This thing is AWESOME! My wife hung it on the wall next to the stove and now when we cook something smelly, all we have to do is turn on the outside fresh air damper and within 30 mins or so the house is smelling clean again. So far i really enjoy this redlink and I'm considering some of the additional sensors it allows me to connect to.

Firstly, the product works great. However the literature that comes with the product insists that a qualified Honeywell installer does the installation. There is zero documentation on how to pair the gateway with the thermostat and nothing on the Honeywell site. It's all geared to directing you to pay $$$ for a technician to visit your house. After a bit of googling I found a video from another owner on YouTube on how to pair the device. It is really simple and literally involves pressing 2 buttons. Voila.
