The Prestige IAQ Thermostat allows humidity monitoring and control. The ability to monitor humidity and dehumidify by turning on the AC was very important to me for my house in Florida. The Prestige IAQ Thermostat is great IF you want an internet connection and want a thermostat location that does not have wire to the air handler. The Prestige IAQ Thermostat requires a Honeywell Equipment Interface Module (EMI) for another $50 or so. The EMI is wired to the air handler and communicates wirelessly with the Prestige IAQ Thermostat. Even if your desired thermostat location has wire to the air handler, the EIM is necessary. I found this frustrating so I use another, less expensive, Honeywell thermostat in this situation and skip the EIM. Unlike other Honeywell wireless thermostats, the Prestige IAQ Thermostat does not have a full battery capability. The Prestige IAQ Thermostat must have a 24VAC connection. The 24VAC can be supplied by a direct wire to the air handler of a small wall transformer. I try to locate the thermostat near a wall outlet and run the transformer wire behind the drywall to the thermostat. The Prestige IAQ Thermostat works well with the Honeywell RedLink internet gateway. This is another item to purchase but it is not expensive. The RedLink hub must have a CAT5 connection to a modem and must have wireless communication with the thermostat. The RedLink is easy is easy to setup. It allows remote control and alarms to computers and cell phones.

I had to replace an older Honeywell system and needed to keep the ability to control Humidity via a remote module. This allowed me to do so and also add in the convenience of wireless exterior temp sensors, and wireless indoor sensors which I plan to use in the future. Only thing to watch out for is that this unit is smaller that a lot of the older programmable units so make sure you have some paint around to touch up areas that were previously covered.

First, I need to set the situation. I previously had my central A/C split from one overall zone to three zones. The thermostats installed were the Honeywell FocusPRO with Redlink connectivity. Completely wireless. Unfortunately, the backlit screen on the FocusPRO's was not bright enough for my Mother's poor eyesight. The grey/green screen and its black numbers did not offer enough contrast for her to see the information on the screen. Also, the FocusPRO does not have a "Circulate" function for the fan. Enter the Prestige IAQ. The Prestige has an excellent display, awesome brightness and clarity, loads of programmability including my most coveted circulate function. The Prestige did require a two wire connection back to the transformer on the main unit for power, but the rest of the setup was simple and straight forward. The Prestige integration with my existing HZ432 Zone Panel and Redlink Internet Gateway was flawless. One-by-one, I added each thermostat to the system and configured the appropriate zoning. Then I set up each thermostats daily program. The best advantage is the ability to configure the "Circulate" feature. This allows just the fan to run in my main living areas every 20 minutes or so which helps to maintain the room temperature without the need for A/C or Heat to run as well. But, when A/C or Heat is needed, they will kick in and run. I an looking forward to a lower electricity bill now that the A/C and Heater will run less. The best thing about the Prestige is that they can be used on two stage systems. So I now have compatible thermostats already in place for when I upgrade my inside furnace and outdoor condenser from single stage to two stage for even more energy savings.

Setup was easy very versatile control . Pex supply was very coperative with the RMA . For the price you can't beat this product . The nest thermostat at over 250$ lacks major features .
