It has nicely designed, informative, and intuitive interface at your finger tips. Easy to install, easy to configure, and extremely simple online setup for remote access via browser or the app. I bought this kit after researching many and many of available options on the market and it was one of the best ones that fit my needs. I'm in a large house on 3 floors with 2 high efficiency furnaces. I needed a thermostat that can properly monitor and control the main unit for the lower levels and with a feature to expand. Via Redlink I'm gonna connect the second system and have a centralized control for the entire house. Great company to trust with your HVAC needs!

Helped the heat pump work better.

Easy to use. However I wonder how long it takes for it to learn our habits. It is set for 71º at 7:30AM every day but that temperature is not reached until about 10:00AM. I understood that the thermostat would have the house at 71º by 7:30, not 2.5 hours later. A heat pump is connected to the thermostat. The heat pump is good down to 40º. But I have seen the temp as high as 54º and the thermostat, which is causing heat to get generated, does not turn on the heat pump but rather uses auxiliary heat (gas furnace). Perhaps the installer can explain this.

I purchased this to replace a Honeywell lyric round gen 1. Honeywell dropped the ball on the lyric but knocked it out of the park with this one. I wanted another internet thermostat but not one that's black and round. This is not internet ready out of the box. You must purchase a red link internet gateway to connect to your router. You can download an app to a phone or tablet for internet access. And connect through a computer over the net. We have both a whole home humidifier and dehumidifier. This stat can control both and a third piece of equipment such as ERV, HRV. The lyric could control all three devices also, however only one of the three could be wired to it and controlled by it at any given time. Only two wires connect to the stat itself. Everything else and the stat connect to the included EIM. The outdoor sensor is a must if you have a heat pump from what I understand. We do not have one. However it is also required to set the window protection level for the humidifier. Which works quite impressively I must say. It's also nice to have the outdoor temperature and humidity on the display as well. It's also displayed on the phone app. Another nice touch. The background color on the screen is changeable. Almost infinitely it seems. The color of the font as well. I purchased two indoor sensors also. One is in a bedroom that seems a bit cooler in winter than the rest of the house. The stat reads the temperature at its own location and the remote sensor location (This is programmable a few different ways) and averages them out. I believe six can be used. The other sensor is in the basement and is being used for dehumidification. This is also programmable. Honeywell requires it to be professionally installed. Ours was. This stat does A LOT. Probably more than you'll ever need. I am extremely happy with it.

This new unit is really nice only two wires to the tstat. This unit was nice for me because it provides a platform to connect and control the whole home dehumidifier and humidifier. You will have to take time and in my case contact Honeywell for correct wiring. It's a great unit that provides a large amount of data on how the unit is running and to me worth more than any nest tstat. It isn't learning but the control and data provided is worth more to me.
