Compatibility & Requirements

Installation requires the use of a C-wire (common wire) for power. Systems with only 4-wire setups can create a C-wire using the THP9045A1098 Wire Saver C-Wire Adapter. The thermostat works with multi-stage conventional systems (2 heat/2 cool) and heat pump systems (2 heat/1 cool). Optional accessories include the C7089U1006 VisionPRO Outdoor Temperature Sensor for outdoor temperature monitoring and the C7189U1005 VisionPRO Remote Indoor Sensor for remote indoor sensing.

Installation & Care

Turn off power to the HVAC system at the circuit breaker before beginning installation. Remove the old thermostat and label each wire with its terminal designation. Install the UWP mounting system or Honeywell Standard Installation Adapter (J-box adapter) to the wall. Connect wires to the corresponding terminals on the thermostat base. Attach the Honeywell Decorative Cover Plate if needed to conceal wall marks. Mount the thermostat to the base plate using the included screws and anchors. Restore power and follow the on-screen setup prompts. Download the Honeywell Home app and create an account to connect the thermostat to your Wi-Fi network. Press the center area of the displayed temperature to wake the screen, which stays lit for 45 seconds. Clean the touchscreen with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive materials on the display surface.
