Description

The ENERGY STAR rated NRC661, Noritz's newest efficient condensing model with a half inch gas line. Featuring the same energy-saving condensing technology as the rest of the Noritz eco-TOUGH Series of gas-fired residential tankless water heaters, the NRC661 has an Energy Factor of 0.91 for natural gas and 0.93 for LP. These ratings are nearly 10 points higher than that of a comparably sized, conventional tankless unit, and approximately 30 points higher than a standard, tank-type gas-fired water heater.

With a maximum input of 120,000 BTU per hour (BTUh), using a half-inch gas line up to 120 feet in length. A new, more accurate interpretation of the National Fuel Gas Code permits the use of the smaller-diameter gas piping for inputs up to 174,000 BTUh, as long as the water column pressure at the inlet of the unit is a minimum eight inches.

Noritz NRC661

I installed this unit along with all plumbing (3/4" propane black pipe, pex water lines, schedule 40 venting/intake, and solar electricity) in one weekend at remote 1.5 bathroom cabin. I only have a 200 watt solar energy electrical system with 2 golf cart batteries but this heater seems to draw little wattage during temporary use (maybe 60 W) and almost nothing in standby. After talking with technical people, I suggest using 3/4" black pipe not 1/2" even though the unit has 1/2" connection. Also, use short large diameter flex connector sufficient for 120K BTU or more. I have only used the water heater for 1 day, but it worked great---instantly! I cannot tell the difference between this heater and the 30 gallon tank that it replaced. The 3" PVC venting made it very easy. Unless you install in a very large room you will need to run the intake PVC line outside--it does suck air but it is quiet. I installed the Noritz threaded isolation valves--which were great. It does get crowded at the bottom of the unit with multiple lines so be prepared to make adjustments. I did not buy the remote control, so it is not possible to set the temperature below 120F, which was a little warm if no cold water was allowed to mix.

This company did a great job !

I needed a replacement tankless water heater and truly, what a blessing that the Supply House was there. I found the exact replacement so it went right in place of the existing plumbing, venting and electric. All that and the best price around. Now for the delivery, I don't know how they are able but in came exactly when expected which was only a few days after the purchase. I will definitely be looking to them first when I need anything in the future. Thank you.

Wonderful transaction, hot water is back

After at least ten years of flawless running or old water heater had the error 29 and there was no way of fixing it without a repair technician. So, we found one for a great price on Supply House with a lightning fast delivery. DIY install was a breeze. Up and running.

Yes - I think it is the most efficient water heater

It is our heater of this size the last one lasted 16 years - we have three of these - one for our home's hot water and two that heat the floors in our 100 plus year old house. When we started using it for our home hot water instead of a 30 gal tank - it reduced of propane use by 35% - the other two keep the house very comfortable in the winter - these two use less propane than our high efficient Lennox furnace - go figure !!!
