Assists compressors in starting under adverse conditions such as low voltage or high head pressures. Built-in relay drops out start capacitor at optimum time to avoid excessive heat build up & prevents damage to compressor by NEVER staying in the circuit too long. Correctly replaces over 60 different OEM combinations of start capacitors & potential relays.

Hi Joe,
I purchased this hard start kit and installed it on my a/c condensing unit because it was laboring a bit because of its age.
It worked very well and boosted the performance of the compressor.

Actually makes some units run more quietly.
I use these when compressors or condenser fans are loud, usually the 5 years and newer stuff, ecm condenser fan motors. I have made some 5 ton systems run less starting amps because of the relay, it stages the fan first on a single stage system. Some dual stage units just run lower amps on startup.
