A surface mount (strap-on aquastat) senses the temperature of the surface (ex. metal heats to 170 °F then starts to cool). The air gets cool (cold) before the surface adjusts to the temperature.
When you use an adjustable differential, the boiler will cycle at the temperature that you set the differential at. It is a good choice and we recommend to use it. However, this is a strap on aqua stat that goes on directly to the pipe, it is not a capillary type.
This is an SPDT switch and you may have wired it backwards. You need it to make on temperature rise.
The replacement for the L6006A1327 is the L6006A1012.
According to the manufacturer, this is correct in heating applications.
The L6006C is a series number, you may have a version of that series that does not meet all of the requirements you are looking for. The last 4 numbers on the unit differentiate one model from another. The L6006C1018 has an operating temperature of 65- 200 degrees with up to a 30 degree differential. It will break on temperature rise, so if that is what you are looking to do it will work for that application.
Aquastats can be used on heaters to regulate the water temperature. The specific model that is compatible with the heater would have to be confirmed with a certified installer or the manufacturer of the heater.
This unit can either break or make on temperature rise and has a 5ft capillary.
