Hello Elden, I am not qualified to answer your question. But if it were me, I would do some research and compare the specifications of the two gas valves or other gas valves to what you are replacing. There are many different manufacturers of gas valves. I found Honeywell to be an excellent choice when I replaced my gas valve. I had to do quite a bit of research as my furnace was installed in 1964. I went to my local Lennox dealer and told them what type of furnace I had and got their recommendation for a replacement gas valve for my old furnace. They had a few different models that would have worked but their price was a problem at the time and my online search led me to Pex Supply. Pex is excellent and I recommend them. Confidence in my own ability Vs. hiring a licensed professional is a question you need to ask yourself. In my case I do my own work. Other considerations when replacing a gas valve is your thermostat. In my case the thermostats anticipator needed to be adjusted to the specifications of my new gas valve. This is detailed in the instructions that came with the new gas valve. I welcome any further question Elden but to answer your first question I would need more details like the make and model of your furnace and thermostat. You are welcome to pick my brain on your project. Best of luck, John

This is a 24 Vac valve, and draws .5 amps @ 24 Vac (12VA). There are many Honeywell transformers that will be large enough to operate this valve such as the AT72D1683, AT140A1000, and AT150F1022.
According to the manufacturer the VR8200A2132 would be a suitable replacement, along with the VR8200A2744 and VR8200A2124.
Yes, the VR8200A2132 would be an appropriate replacement.
