Description

Designed and made in Germany, Stiebel Eltron's elegant surface-mount CK heater quickly warms an area or maintains a comfortable temperature. CK heaters easily replace existing flush-mount heaters and are perfect for new construction. The European downdraft design heats a space evenly with the extremely quiet built-in fan. Temperature is easily set with a thermostat on the right side of the CK. The CK can also be operated with a conventional wall-mounted thermostat in rooms larger than 215 sq. ft. The CK has a frost protection setting that will maintain above freezing temperatures in an appropriately sized space. The external casing is made of stove-enameled sheet steel with plastic sides. The CK heater is designed to have its components recycled at the end of its useful life. Since 1924, Stiebel Eltron has been a world-leading German manufacturer of technically superior products, with an almost 90-year-old proud tradition of excellence in engineering and manufacturing.
CK 15E is 120 volt, outputs 1500 watts, draws 12.5 amps, and must be hard-wired
CK 15E needs a 15 amp breaker and 12 AWG wire
Heat output for the CK 15E is 5122 BTU/hr
Typical applications are bathrooms, basements, offices, playrooms, 3-season porches, cabins, campers or RVs, and mobile homes
The galvanized steel, squirrel cage blower motor is extremely quiet, with a noise level of only 49.7 dB(a)
CK 15E is designed and made in Germany
Installation should only be on a vertical wall that is heat-resistant to at least 194 F

Problem with the Thermostat
Last year I bought one and gave it a great review. Now I must revise my review. The thermostat has been acting erratically. Sometimes it fails to shut down the unit. It will run all night, putting the room at 90 degrees. I will be returning this to Supply House. This should not happen in a unit that is only one year old.

It is not a 'bad' product however there are several limitations to it. It heats well enough and is very attractive on the wall. The noise level is too high to recommend for bed rooms and power line is visible when installation is complete. . .connection point needs to be moved or cover needs to be modified to hide from view.

Pleased with item, pleased with Supply House too
The heater is very quiet and very effective. It was easy to install. The unit sits off the wall about an inch-and-a-half. That is a good idea, but it leaves the incoming power cable exposed. That is a violation of electrical codes. When you install it, you should put a metallic (or hard plastic) tube between the wall and the back of the unit. Then run your power cable through this tube.
