Part almost as much as assembly
I like the product, but wish it would cost less. There is not much difference in cost between the replacement cartridge and a complete assembly.

Bolts too long
Replaced cartridge in a home hot water pump. O ring didn't fit the recess in housing well, slightly too large. Had to fasten in place with Permatex gasket sealant, to hold until motor/cartridge in place. Biggest problem was new cap screws furnished with kit were too long, and bottomed out in tapped pump body, which allowed significant leak. FIgured out and put washers under heads, then o ring compressed enough to seal.

Unfortunately, the cartridge wasn't my issue.
I had a blown panel and replaced it but didn't work. I went to the cartridge and that also didn't work. When the panel blew it fried the motor windings so I ordered the entire pump assembly!!
It works great and I now have a replacement cartridge and panel just in case.

The o ring gasket I have was flat not round i also bought the gasket kit and those gaskets didn't seem right either.

The Taco 007-42RP is for select Taco 007 Cast iron circulator pump models (O-rings & 4 new SS bolts included). The models include the 007-F3, 007-F3-1, 007-F3-1W, 007-F3-3W, 007-F3-4, 007-F3A, and a whole bunch more. I had the same question a couple of years ago and Mario Silva at Taco told me it was the correct cartridge for the 007-F3. Best Wishes.

No it does not. It only has a direction of flow indicator labeled on the outside of the cast housing.

Q: Hello, My boiler is currently using a 007-BF3-1W, would this be the correct replacement cartridge? The current pump is 25+ years old, would I be better off just replacing the whole pump? What would be a good drop in replacement for that pump? Thank you!
