Exactly what every pump manufacturer should offer!

The fact that Taco even offers a cartridge style pump and replacement cartridges is amazing. Kit includes everything you need to replace the cartridge and everything works perfectly. So nice to not have to buy a whole pump and replumb it. 5 Minute swap. Taco is my first choice in pumps for this reason.

Cartridge Replacement

The Cartridge replacement went well. Was able to use a battery powered screwdriver to remove/replace the screws. Otherwise, it is hard to maneuver in those tight spaces. Make sure you tighten screws to prevent leakage.

Faster and Cheaper than the local plumbing supply house.

My recirculating pump for getting hot water up to the master bathroom started making noise. This has happened before. The problem is the impeller eventually wears out. I did a search on the internet for the pump and this company popped up. I wrote and gave them the model number of the pump and asked if they could provide a new impeller. I also called my local plumbing supply to get a quote. Supply House was $60 cheaper and could deliver faster. The impeller arrived on time and is now installed. It works perfectly. I'll be buying another one from these guys the next time the impeller fails. I got 10 years out of the last one before it failed, but I have their information stored in my files and I won't forget.

worked like a charm

The TACO circulator between my boiler mounted heat exchanger and my hot water storage tank failed after years of service. It was installed in 1990. I isolated the pump, removed four bolts and pulled the motor portion of the pump off. A bit of water comes out so have an old towel handy. After 30+ years, the plastic impellar had disintegrated to the point of failure. I have no idea how long the circulation may have been operating at less than peak efficiency. I do know that when I removed it for examination a year or two ago it was still complete. I cleaned up the mating and seal surfaces and removed any bits of disintegrated impellar I could see in the housing. The new cartridge dropped in. I installed the new seal ring and bolted the unit back together. After reopening the isolation valves my unit was back to proper operation. As long as isolation valves are in place and you can turn the power off temporarily, just about anybody should be able to replace the unit. There are numerous YouTube videos. This can be accomplished in a half hour or less.

use the pump to heat a small guest house,@ 16 ft. by 40 ft. and works great. the old brass pump wire coil inside shorted out and burned the coils. but it lasted for 10 years and no problems, and pumped hot water through 412 ft. of Pex-tubing about 3 inches in concrete floor

- Another PexSupply Customer

I may not be the best person to answer this. I purchased the item below in 2009 for my Taco 007-BF5 recirculating pump on my hot water heater. I got it so that if/when the pump ever fails, I might possibly be able to repair it in short order rather than having to research the part, order it, and wait for it to arrive before I have hot water again. The pump is so reliable, that I haven't yet needed the part, so I'm not 100% sure it is exactly the right part. I did research it on the manufacturer's website when I ordered it. Unfortunately, I don't know if the same part will work for the-pump. Replacement Cartridge TAC007-045RP (for 007 Bronze) SKU:007-045RP Brand: Taco I would recommend you go to their website (http://www.taco-hvac.com) and submit the question to them. I'm sure they would provide an answer. Hope this helps. T. Stiles

Q: what is the difference between to CI and bronze replacement cartridge? I purchased a 042 for my bronze pump application and am getting a water leak into the coil housing when the pump is running I think I have repeated a past mistake. I purchased a CI pump assembly 2 years ago and mounted the motor housing and cartridge into the bronze base. The cartridge lasted two years.

CI stands for cast iron. These pumps are typically used in closed systems. Bronze and stainless steel pumps are only useful in open systems.
