Taco ZVC-406-4 Zone Valve Control 👍

I am using this for radiant heat in a 4800 sq.ft home and for indirect DW heating on a 119 gal indirect water tank! The board is really easy to setup and straight forward! The only thing I would like to see is a change in the wiring of the input and outputs…making the therminal connectors that will just plug in on the mother board instead of having to wire each input/output! This would make changing the board out easier and faster!

Great product. Shipping costs too high.

Exact replacement part. Easy to install. Shipping does not have to be this high to send a product of this size. Every parts store I spoke to recommended Supply House but each said shipping cost were out of line.

Nice product

This zone valve controller is a great product and allows to clean up the mess of wiring that comes with zone valve controls. The only complaint I have with this product is that the system pump always activates on any zone call, even the DHW/priority. If you have a scenario where your DHW call should only activate the DHW circulator and not the system circulator, you can't wire your system circulator through this ZVC. If you want to use DHW with priority it will handle that by using the secondary relay. I worked around that issue with a separate SR501.

Hope fully not -- Buy this product again and again

The product works as designed. I'd say big deal but when you buy it and it doesn't work as advertised; these guys have the process. BTW, they do have a problem. They quote a delivery date which, so far, has been a day better than reality.

Q: Will the priority zone relinquish control to the other zones after a certain time? Eg, if after 2 hours of the PRI zone calling for heat, will it allow the others to activate, even if it is not satisfied?

Yes, after an hour.

Q: My boiler needs to continue circulating water after the zone(s) heat need is met in order to cool down internally (burner off). Does the controller do this? Wiring?

No it does not, the pump will only be running when there is a call for heat.

Q: Will this control talk back to the boiler and turn the temperature up to the max useing zone 6 as a priority seating. I have a older taco 6 zone control box right now and it does not alow for this. In the spring and fall I would love to turn my boiler down to 130 for heating. The problem is I am useing some home made tube heat exchangers for my domestic hot water that needs 150 to heat the domestic hot water.

When using zone 6 while switched to priority when that zone is actuated all other zones will stop operation and the system will fulfill zone six's need until it is satisfied. If the system calls to zone six continuously for more than an hour power returns to the other zones and then they will all function independently.

Q: I have 6 zone valves that use one circulator pump. One circulator pump for DHW. One more circulator that used used for for the boiler. Would this controller work for me??

This control will work with six zone valves and six thermostats. It can also handle a circulator pump. To install a second circulator pump for domestic hot water, you will wire that pump to the priority zone 6 on the back of the panel with the jumper connection. For a wiring diagram please see here: http://s3.supplyhouse.com/product_files/Taco-ZVC406-4-Install.pdf

Q: I have a 6 zone system and plan to use 6 thermostats and 6 valves on six manifolds, will the taco 6 zone work for this and what valves should I use to shut down each manifold as the thermostat comes up to temperature? Also I plan to use two circulating pumps, one for two manifolds and one for four manifolds, will it turn the pumps on and off too? Thanks

This control will work with six zone valves and six thermostats. It can also handle a circulator pump, but you would need to link an additional switching relay to it if you plan to use multiple circulators. We would recommend Taco Zone Sentry valves.
