Description

The tekmarNet® Thermostat 532 is a communicating thermostat designed for one stage hydronic heating systems. Simple up and down buttons and a display with large type make this thermostat easy to read and use. It has two auxiliary sensor inputs that can be assigned to measure room, floor, or outdoor temperature. An optional floor sensor protects the floor from overheating and enhances comfort. The 532 can be wired using two or four wires to connect to tekmarNet zoning controls, or can be installed as a stand-alone thermostat using three wires.

Works well with HouseControl 401

Works well communicating via tekmar net 2 to our House Control 401. I like the secondary temp sensor display as well. A bit pricey, but it's the only simple thermostat compatible with the HouseControl.

Does What it's Supposed To

This is my 5th Tekmar 532 T-Stat. I use them for radiant floor heated rooms in which they are connected to a main thermostat. The 532 does heat only and my main thermostats (1 on each floor) controls the cooling. I bought these to replace RTU's which are a bit limiting. So far I haven't had any issues with them and they do what they are supposed to, so yes I would recommend them to others. One thing that ticks me off is that they don't send the little screw drivers with their products anymore. This unit was supposed to have one in the box, big box with indent for the screwdriver inside, however, no screwdriver there. Disappointing, for the money the charge for these it wouldn't break them to include the little screwdriver.

Great little unit. Bare bones

I use it in a shop with a hydronic heated slab floor, one large room. This unit requires a 24 volt power source. If you install it on your project, make sure it has a dedicated power source. Don't run it off a transformer that is powering another device. If you do, "noise" will travel along the wires and can damage the computer. If you dont have a dedicated transformer, you can buy one from Supply House for about $8. Other than that, programming the settings is a little difficult to understand and may require a call to the Rep.

Great little thermostat

with out the bells and whistles. I use it for a heated floor in my shop. Works well. One thing with these electronic thermostats, make sure you power it from a dedicated transformer, not one in use in another device like the furnace or a zone relay. A transformer that is powering another device will have spikes or "noise" in the output that will damage this unit.

Tekmar continues to be "the choice" for such systems

My geothermal radiant system is controlled by Tekmar and we love the level of control, efficiency, and convenience this system provides. We recently decided to split one of our zones, so we needed another thermostat, But Tekmar is several generations beyond our system, so after some research (Thanks, Supply House!) bought this unit. It works very differently but seems to be doing the job anyway. I'll probably move the new one into an area we don't adjust very often, so the family can have the same controls they are used to in the other five zones.
