Good upgrade from time based defrost control
We noticed this heat pump was running a lot of defrost cycles when there wasn't the slightest trace of frost. Using the demand setting on this universal control we were able to eliminate most of the unnecessary defrost cycles. It has made a significant improvement in efficiency.

I do not have any long term experience with this product, but I am impressed. If you are replacing a defrost board it is not a bad idea to change the temp sensors or thermometer even if they are okay. Why? The sensors often short out and fail (just think of the temperature swings they go through and the rate they go through these temperature swings). This products includes two thermistors, which makes it a very good value. It is an easy install and really shouldn't take much longer than oem. The board has lots of useful options to configure as well. I like to upgrade all time and temperature defrost boards to demand if possible as it is more energy efficient. It is the only board I stock.
