Featuring a 40-gallon (nominal) tank and a 40,000 BTU gas burner, the GPVL-40 Power Vent delivers a first hour rating of 73 gallons and a recovery rate of 44.7 gallons per hour. This model features a 0.67 Uniform Energy Factor and carries a 6-year limited warranty. Environmentally-friendly insulation and factory-installed heat trap nipples reduce heat loss for maximum energy savings. This ProLine XE water heater is designed with A. O. Smith's superior commercial-grade tank protection. Advanced tank features include stainless steel CoreGard anode rod, Blue Diamond glass lining and DynaClean automatic sediment-cleaning system, all designed to help protect the tank from the corrosive effects of water and extend the life of the water heater. Quiet Blower
Nice Quiet Blower compared to my old retrofit water heater and blower motor. I don't here it on main floor, and barely can hear it on same floor as the install.
I haven't really stressed it as far as hot water recovery. Beyond that it provides hot water as advertised!

tank arrived early, package was not damaged. Removed box and found the water tank shell was dented in a number of places. Since the packaging was not damaged the damage must have originated in the factory. WILL NOT buy AO Smith again.

Initially I give this unit a four. I have only had this running for about three weeks now. There was no problem with delivery or customer service. I just cannot give this a five just yet though if this opinion was based on my previous AO Smith water heater, it would be a five.

happy with product and service
I am very please with the water heater, much better than last one. Easy install, the only semi bad thing was the gas line that goes to the burner was loose, found out few days after install when smelling gas. Should of double check to be safe.
Love the heater so far.
And love the service from supply house, will defiantly order with them in future

Verified Reply- Hey Joe, Technically, you can use a water heater for radiant floor heating since you would need the water to get up to 120 Degrees Fahrenheit, but honestly, you are much better off going with a Boiler for this, as a Water Heater will only last a couple to several years in this application.
