16" x 25" Easy Install Media Air Cleaner

Received this order so quickly I thought it was delivered by angels! It was installed just as quickly (by a professional) and it appears to be working well. I like the neatness of it and the multi-layer filters and the fact that I can leave it to be changed each year with annual maintenance (I don't have to replace the filter anymore.)

Makes replacement furnaces a lot easier to install and it gives the customer another added satisfaction of cleaner air and maintenance on their new equipment. Also is easy or the customer to replace their own filters for the DIY owners

Easy to install, multiple style merv rated filters available

Regular 1" air filters aren't going to cut it if you actually want to improve air quality in your home, the pressure drop is just too great. This unit solved those problems for me. Now I can get Merv13 performance with the same pressure drop as a standard 1" "boulder catcher". The installation was fairly easy and saved me a lot of $$ doing it myself.

My system was 25 years old and needed replaced, initially I was going to have a company do it. I could have bought a new kia for what they quoted me. Since my job was a retrofit and I wanted to upgrade to a 4 inch thick filter I found the Aprilaire 1610 was the perfect solution for my situation. It dropped right in, I shortened my 12x24 return duct and made a transition to 10x24 for the Aprilaire. Which also gave me room for my power switch and furnace condensate drain. I saved myself a lost of frustration and time by buying this air cleaner and I'm so happy about it I decided to leave a review, which is something I haven't done in years for anything.

I looked at many of these upgraded filters before buying. This one stood out the best because I didnt have to spend the money on a filter housing along with the 90 degree bend, which would been more then the price of this unit. I wouldnt say the install was easy but it is not that hard if you have any DIY experience. I am a stationary engineer so I ha e nothing but fixing stuff I have never seen or done before in my blood. The difference in air flow was night and day on the filter from the 16x25x1 to the 16x25x4. There was definitely better air flow with this filter so I know it will do well. The only thing I didnt like about it was the fact that the filters are only aprilaire. But after looking at it you might be able to get a standard filter in the housing if you wanted to. But the aprilaire filters where not any different in price so I will just stick with them I'm sure. All in all great product, good performance, well worth the buy.
