Yes, the whole housing has three pieces. There is a canister, there is a cap, and there is a threaded metal band that holds the cap on the canister. Just turn the band in a counter clockwise direction. Once the band comes loose, then you can just pull the cap off. There is not screw or anything, just threads. Thanks
The filter should be replaced after 10,000 gallons of water to continue chlorine reduction. Actual filter changes will depend also on your individual water quality.
