Great housing

Don't rely on plastic housings, they break over time

Solid

Only whole house filter that is rated to 300 psi and has a 10 year warranty. The plastic ones are rated for 100 psi only. Takes a little work to get the nut to tighten with the filter in it but the all stainless housing gives piece of mind.

Like it

I have just one of these hooked up at the moment. I'm running the carbon filter on the whole house. We only have one bathroom, shower and a kitchen, family of 2. It's been a great filter and should provide years of trouble free service. It's been 4 months and I've yet to replace the original filter but I'm keeping an eye on it. Seems to really make a difference for the shower. Eventually I will add at least one more with the sediment filter before the carbon filter but for now this is perfect. Good stuff.

Stainless is the way to go!

For long term use & where PVC housings are not allowed this is the perfect housing. They do sell the filter cartridges as well, which you will need.

I can trust this one.

I bought a hot water filter housing from another online source that was high temperature plastic made in Italy. Once I started threading pipe into it, I could see it wasn't something I wanted to trust. Weak material. Get the stainless steel one. Well worth it.

I would buy this product again

Used for filtering in feed water for our boiler. it's stainless so I don't have to worry about it breaking and spewing water everywhere. I wish it had an indicator to show when the filter needs to be changed.

No better housing out there.

The gold standard for filter housings. I had the double housing for 30 years and it's still solid. Be careful with rolled copper male adapters in this stainless housing...suggest high density Teflon tape AND Teflon pipe dope for leak free make-up.

Highly Recommended

I purchase this unit to replace the original plastic one in use for fifteen years. This one should outlast me! Very sturdy, well made housing. Simple to install for moderately skilled DIY'er. Supply House had the best price by far. Great customer care too.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: To unscrew and add the new filter do you just grab the canister and turn in a counter clockwise direction? Is there anything to loosen like a screw on the top cap before you do this. I don't want to mess this up especially when a leak could mean big problems

Yes, the whole housing has three pieces. There is a canister, there is a cap, and there is a threaded metal band that holds the cap on the canister. Just turn the band in a counter clockwise direction. Once the band comes loose, then you can just pull the cap off. There is not screw or anything, just threads. Thanks

Q: How often does the filter need to be replaced and how?

The filter should be replaced after 10,000 gallons of water to continue chlorine reduction. Actual filter changes will depend also on your individual water quality.
