Definitely worth the extra money.
Every Boshart fitting I've used so far are of the highest quality. The common plastic tees and elbows used with PEX are okay, but reduce flow. The brass tees and elbows are readily available but I've seen so many that were produced wrong, and yes, brass can develop holes and leak depending on the quality of your water. Stainless Boshart fittings are the way to go for longevity and only doing the job once.
