Please call in to customer service at 1-888-757-4774 with the order number the water heater was purchased under so that the warranty process can begin. The unit would have to be troubleshot with the installer to determine it is defective under warranty, and the unit would have to be purchased from SupplyHouse.com for the warranty to be processed.
This heater can only heat 43 gallons of water per hour at a 90°F temperature rise.
The unit has a 6-year warranty. Actual life expectancy varies and depends heavily on water quality and maintenance.
I have had this about 3 years now and it works without a hitch. The main problem with any water heater is that the tank rust out and starts to leak. However you can achieve a much longer life if you replace the zinc rod that is located at the top of the boiler every 5 years or so. They are cheap and easy to replace but nobody seems to do it. The rod sacrifices itself to keep the tank from rusting. That and about the same time drain the unit to get the dirt out of the bottom of the tank it and it may last longer then you think. This unit can put out some hot water we are never without.
Yes, there are no power connections required. Unit has an green blinking LED that tells you it is working. The LED gets its power from the thermocouple.
Yes, this model does not rely on power from the home circuit panel. The only problem would be if you had an interruption in the gas supply or your incoming water line. The pilot light burns continuously and only uses a piezoelectric spark igniter, which is self contained and requires no outside electricity. There is a small flashing green light on the gas valve assembly that indicates that the pilot is burning. I've had no issues with this water heater since installation.
I have one of these set up for propane. So far it's been the worst water heater I've ever had. Had it for about 6 months and the pilot started to go out every day. Had the installer send a tech out and he changed something that changed the outage from every day to about once a week. Fortunately, there is an led light that shows when the pilot is out so I check every day to make sure we don't get cold showers. Im trying new plumber now who thinks it may be a thermocouple problem. Stay away from this heater unless you enjoy tinkering.
I bought this product 4 years ago and have not had one issue with it. It has been a great water heater and I highly recommend it. I know basic plumbing and installed it my self and it has had no problems. Sent from my iPhone
Not sure why it got such a poor rating. I installed this about two years ago. It runs flawlessly and I never run out of hot water. In general I find that most appliances of this type generally look poor in appearance but works the way it should. I would give this water heater at least 4 starts and Pexsupply 5 stars. Water heater came quickly and in good shape.
No problems...
I installed it and it has been working. I do not have problem with that.
So far we have had no issues with the hot water tank and it's been in place over 2-years. I wanted a tank that was efficient with a high recovery rate and that's what we got. Our gas bill went down significantly and we have lots of hot water whenever we need it. Even if you shut it down it takes less than an hour before you have a full tank of hot water again. I did some research and this brand is supposed to be one of if not the best. Try to buy this same unit from a local shop and they will charge you double.
I've had that same waterheater in my house for 2 yrs. and it has worked great. I installed it my self and had no problems. I bought mine threw PEX SUPPY directly. For me it excellent.

This heater has an energy factor (EF) of .62. Please contact your local utility company to see what type of rebate that may entitle you to.
The rebate is for the installation and not for the unit. The way I read it if you install it yourself like I did, no $50 rebate.
The unit will need to be feed with air for the unit to fire. The manual will give you the specific specs needed for installation: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1269459647173/28228_PROD_FILE.pdf
