Really easy install
So simple to install, I almost overthought it.
I was replacing an old Carrier boiler with external aquastat, control, gas valve, etc.
I dismantled the old system and refitted the gas and water lines, installed the Taco circulator, re-ran the electriccal and thermostat wires and hooked up the vent.
I couldn't believe how simple the hook-ups were. I couldn't believe that there was no special wiring or settings.
I threw the switch and set the thermostats and it worked perfectly. Nothing further. Just so beautifully simple. . . .

What an improvment!
I replaced a 40 year old oil fired boiler with this unit. I am amazed at how quiet and efficient this boiler is, compared to the old unit. If you are in the market, make the change. I stuck with the atmospheric boiler due it's simplicity.

So far it exceeds expections
I am very happy with this boiler. This unit is in my home and has reduced my heating bill by an estimted 22%. I leave in Northern Michigan so this savings is big. I would give this unit serious consideratiion if you are looking for a new boiler.

Q: Is the ES2-5 compatible with indirect fired water tanks. Does it have sufficient BTU output to support such a feature?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYes, you can use this boiler with an indirect water heater. The indirect will take priority, so you do not need to add extra BTUs to your BTU load.

Q: Which one from ES2 series is able to deliver similar heating capacity as P-206-W (D.O.E. 135,000 BTU; I=B=R Rating 117,400 BTU;A.G.A. Rating 164,000 BTU)? Thanks!

Q: I am doing an oil to natural gas conversion and I am trying to decide between the ES25NI-T and the P206-NG. The ES25 has an 102K BTU output and the P206 has 118K BTU output. Does the P206 provide more heat and what is the difference between the BTU input and output ratings? Why would I want to pay about $400 more for a boiler that provides less BTUs?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYes, the P206 will give you more heat, but the ES2 is more efficient. The BTU output is what heat you get out of the boiler after you lose some heat through the chimney and piping. The BTU input is the amount of heat the unit gives off before going through the chimney. BTU input will always be greater than BTU output because some heat is lost through the chimney. Although the ES2 puts out less heat, it is more efficient, and units with higher efficiencies will use less fuel than units that are less efficient.

Q: Why is it necessary to re-line an existing clay, flue-lined chimney?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffAccording to the manufacturer, a clay flue-lined chimney does not meet the venting standards of the unit. This boiler does have a slight condensation so that is most likely the reason you would have to vent the unit with a Type B gas vent or flexible metal which is required by the NFPA 54 code.
